Hey Rich, I don't think anyone around here has a rotary specific tester. You may be able to find one at the specialty shops and maybe even a stealership. As I remember it they are pretty expensive so most don't buy them. Good luck.

First one I've been to all year I only made it to one or two last year as well, work has slowed down a bit though so I'll be able to be a regular again.

A piston tester should get you in the ballpark. Just use a finger or thumb to see if you can feel consistent pulses. Usually wear will be consistant across the faces. Signficant inconsistant wear or damage is an anomoly which you may be able to hear/feel when running.

Appreciate it guys! Ya I did a test with the crappy auto zone lend a tool with 83 front rotor and 81 rear rotor with even bounces for all rotor faces. Idk if numbers could actually be higher or lower and didn't want to give potiental buyers false numbers.

Just disclose how you measured it. FWIW, a rotary tester shouldn't test any higher as the piston tester will read the highest compression from the three lobes. What a piston tester won't show is if one the lobes has lower compression. Also to get as accurate a number as possible, you want to test with the TB open and the engine turning at around 200 (do a search on compression checking to make sure im correct on that tho)

Well poo... by the time I checked the CDC site the event was closed

Do most of you that go to the CDC events stick to MD or do you also go to the VA ones too?

I tend to do any/all I am available for. Unfortunately recently I've been too busy with work to do any, but hopefully that has changed.

Also, (little known fact) if you show up early for the event they usually have a couple slots that they can fill day of. If they say they've run out of spots come find me and I'll talk to the head organizer and see what I can do. Or, if you're the nervous type, find me before going to the sign in and I'll talk to them for you.

Got the FD back together and everything seems to work so I'll be there Saturday. Bringing a friend with his Fiesta ST as well.

Got the car all cleaned up nicely this afternoon. Thinking I might swing by CFA and see if there's anything going on there anymore. Anyone else want to come out Friday night?

Sure, I'd like to put a few more miles on the car before tomorrow anyway. I'll head over there around 7.

Great timing for me to pop in. Was going to suggest a routine meet for us at a local brewery every so often, instead of twice a year after our drive events. But CFA will do tonight. My car needs a spin. And it should start up just fine. (Rocky had to talk me through a random non-start issue a few weeks ago.)

Billy, you coming out to keep us (more) entertained?

Let me know if plans change but I'll head out there around 7 as well, which will put my ETA at 730.

So...more frequent smaller get-togethers anyone? Who's up for checking out Calvert Brewing Company in Upper Marlboro MD sometime soon? They have a nice beer garden further out in Prince Frederick MD that can serve as the destination for the Fall drive. Maryland Craft Brewery | Local Craft Beer -Calvert Brewing Company Looks picturesque, and surely that hill is nothing like Dirt Farm's.

Duc - how you been friend ? Since I'm already in PG County I'd say yes, but because its so FLAT as you get closer to the water imo Virginia is a better drive for the Fall/Spring meets. I'm always up for drive/brew/meet - suggest something & a time. I'm going to go over to FedEx Field Sunday 6/25 about noon and watch Mike thrash his fc beast around the SCCA cones. Weather to be great. Bill

I'm going to be running at the end of the morning session this sunday, so probably closer to 11am. (classes switch from morning to afternoon sessions every other autocross)

Mike, thanks for the time correction for me. PMed you previously with my cell, consider texting me whenever you are going to an autocross or other event with the beast. Bill

I'm well Bill and hope you are too. Stay posted here or I'll make sure to let you know about any last minute meets. I saw you posted on Gordon's post about his meet. I was going to solicit interest here but I'm busy on the 5th so I'm hoping for the rain-out date of Sunday August 6th. For people who don't know, Gordon (gmonsen) used to host the Carlisi Memorial events at his estate but I guess it's been many years since he's done one. I've never been but he's doing a meet on August 5th. It's in Bethlehem PA, about 3.5 hours away. He's providing the food (pig roast), swimming pool, and a few cars for ride swaps. (I wonder if he'd let people take the Testarossa for a spin?) https://www.rx7club.com/ne-rx-7-foru...ether-1115093/

I've exchanged a few PM's with him many years ago, seems to be a really nice guy. He sent me a bunch of technical drawings of cars, the guy loves cars, no doubt. Would make for a nice road trip!

Depending on what the weather does tomorrow, maybe I'll swing by the CFA meet after work. There are a lot of rotaries in the area, but it's pretty hard to get them all together at the same time.

Is it the one in Dulles/Sterling? I forgot about that one. The one I would often go to got shut down unfortunately. That's a good spot if anyone else wants to join, weather permitting. Also at a good time with evening hours for me to join after work.

Yeah the CFA at Dulles Towncenter in the Lowes parking lot on Friday nights. There's also the Dulles Landing cars and coffee on Sunday morning but it's pretty early (7-9).
