I'm going down to Road Atlanta toward the end of Oct. so I'm gonna pass on VIR this time. Too many long drives in one month :P
I also signed up for the HPDE at NCCAR end of Oct. It looks like an interesting track. Price seems quite reasonable for an instructed event too.

This is a long shot but does anyone have a spare passenger side rear caliper kicking around?
I put all new race pads in and I've got some horrible grinding/shuddering from that one corner but only after releasing the pedal. When applied, the brakes work great so I assume that one caliper just isn't releasing properly. I bled properly and also lubed the slide pins but the problem persists. It's going to be a pita having a dragging brake at the track I called the three major auto suppliers and can't get a replacement in time.

Could I persuade you to bring it with you to Summit? I'm going to try to polish the piston/bore on my caliper tonight and see if that helps, but if worse comes to worse it'd be awesome to have a backup plan for Saturday. BTW, my plan is to head up Friday after work and camp in the paddock. We usually grab dinner in town after tech/reg if you'll be around.

NP, appreciate it!
Just finished changing the brakes for a 4th time this week on that corner. I think I'm dealing with multiple issues.
- The new pads are just too thick and they're binding up a bit on *both* sides
- The rotors are a bit worn and have a small lip which is probably exacerbating the problem
- The RH caliper def. is binding. I just disassembled, cleaned, and lubed it and put it back together. Piston moves well enough. I think it may have been binding up on its own dust boot which was torn to shreds and partially stuck in the bore
- The used DTC60 pad I put in there just yesterday for testing delaminated from the backing plate and the friction material got wedged in between the rotor and the remaining good half and caused the entire pad to bend. What are the chances of that happening and causing further binding when troubleshooting a separate issue? Glad I discovered that before Saturday.
Anyway, things seem pretty good after the last test drive so fingers crossed!

Doug you in here yet? lol I went to stop by Ian's house to do another check with the rotary tester tool and filling up on gas this clean red fd was driving by and we locked eyes and he pulled up and chatted for some time. While clean I will probably never miss that stock twin setup after being single and loving it. Now that efr just needs to come down in price!

Adaptronic tuner in the area
Hey all, didn't know if this was the right place to ask but I figure starting with a post in the local area thread is less obnoxious than posting an area specific question in the engine tuning forum. I have an RX-8 with a REW swap (MSP front cover run by an Adaptronic plug and play). My drivability and idle tuning is pretty terrible. I was hoping to tackle the challenge by myself but I just don't have enough time or knowledge. Before I make the long trek down to RotorSports Racing I was hoping someone in the area would could provide me this service.

Swaps make me sad a little on the inside. But to each his own, right?
I would have been there with my FB but she looks like hell, I'm getting my "new" panels resprayed and waiting for my adapters to come in to put my Koseis on. A carb rebuild would probably be a good idea too - just gotta hit that local guy up when my splurge paycheck comes in next lol.
Any other events going on in the area? I'm up in Damascus/Germantown/Rockville a lot.
