Showed it off to potential buyers? I saw your post on Reddit - the car looks good! Are you sure you don't need kitchen work done?
😅 Yea, put a for sale sign in the window and had a few people ask about it. Got a couple of offers but thinking of putting it on bringatrailer or something for a bit of a larger audience.

Born in the D.C. area, raised mosly in Maryland, and currently living in Missouri (long story) but moving back hopefully in 2027. I had 2 79's, 1 1980, 1 1983, 1 1984, and an 86. Wish I'd kept them all. I plan to buy either a 1st or 2nd gen Rx7. I'm glad to see there are active clubs back home. I used to drive from Churchville to my girlfriend's in Bethesda, I-95. Great fun with those cars.
I have gone home every 2-3 years from when I lived in California (1981-1990) and Missouri (1991 to getting out soon). A lot has changed, especially Frederick, but the general framework and state is the same. More developments. No different than here (except there is nothing to do here and JDM related clubs are rare but hostility toward them isn't). I attended two high schools, Hagerstown and Western Maryland, and Frostburg State. Can't wait to move home.

I just watched the car drive off to Ohio with its new owner 😢 We had fun but it was time to pass the torch. He is going to AutoX it so I'm happy it'll be used how it's meant to be.
I did end up moving here a few months ago, but left the FD behind while I figure out logistics of where to store it. (I leave my daily at work since parking is $4k/year at my place.)
Is there a recommended person or shop that does wiring in the local area? One of the last major steps to getting the FD back on the road is the wiring. I removed all harnesses with the intent to re-do everything since lots of components have been deleted, but a move got in the way and I don’t have a parking situation to do it myself. Otherwise I’ll leave the FD in storage out of state til I get back to it
You may want to consider sending it out to a shop like RyWire or something similar that specializes in wiring as it will be the best place for wiring that knows the chassis, as I am not sure of your interior controls. I'll be doing a complete setup in my racecar using Nexus R3 while a street application may need an R5 and or an addition of a PD16 or similar setup from other brands of choice.

Congratulations but a sad, sad day. My car has just been sitting forever so considering joining you. I know I'll be remorseful though. Finally a nice weekend so I'll be airing it out to reinvigorate my passion for the car.

Thanks and yea, I will miss the car. Had a ton of fun with it over the years but it was time to pass the torch since I haven't done an autox or track day since 2018 and I'm not getting any younger! I'll still be lurking here as always and if you all do decide to get together for a meet-up I'll still try and come

Life has ever changing priorities. I love my car but haven't taken it to a meet besides DGRR in years. Apparently there's some RX-7 meetup in Chantilly this weekend but the inf about it is on Instagram and I deactivated my account. Slim chance I'll make it up there on Saturday.

Matt, I'm glad to see everything worked out and the car went to a good home. IF we have a meetup we'll definitely loop you in and I'll be sure to reach out to you for some Rebtrobits guidance if I have trouble with the Atari I got gives me trouble(whenever i get around to it!).

Thanks for your help with the compression tester and advice on valuation as well! For old Ataris, check the voltage regulation and clean the switches and cartridge slot contacts :P
Hey All. I havn't posted up in here since I moved to WA in 2007. I may be headed back to VA around the DC area in a year for work. Last I remember Va has smog checks. What do we do with our 30+ year old cars?

I'm in Maryland and they don't test antiques here. With mid-300s horsepower, lots of interesting flame and noises in the tailpipe.
