Wouldn't mind taking the FD out for a drive today but 30-40% chance of rain and t-storms. Uggghhh.

So who's all planning on going to Gordon's BBQ? If there's a caravan, any idea of an ETD on that Saturday? The Q goes from 9 am to 6 pm. I know it's still three weeks away but I'm bored and just thinking ahead about logistics as I'm a strong maybe. Did people who went last year go just for the day - 4 hour drive there, 4 hours of hanging out, 4 hours back?

I'd love to go but I'm not sure I can swing it, my wife wasn't too receptive when I brought it up.

Hi, guys. I see we have 28 people coming on Facebook and 61 more interested. I think some of the people here also signed up on Facebook. We're pretty good on food still and I hope a bunch of NOVA guys make it. Bring a liter of soda or some beer. We have room for at least 40 rotaries. There are a few other cars coming. I know another guy with a Testarossa is coming, a 458 Italia, some BMW's, and a Porsche GT2.

Dominion next week? Anyone feel like some track time? I'm going Thursday 8/16 for Track Night in America. At least one other RX7 going, not me I'll be in my RS. I may sign up for Sunday 8/18 HPDE as well.

I'm shooting to make another/more events later on this fall. I've got some suspension and brake work i want to get done before taking mine out again... also super irritated with my boost control issue. It still exists after replacing the control solenoid, if I'm lucky it will just be a loose pin on the ECU connector from when it was repinned.

I'm also not going to make Gordon's BBQ.

I haven't made it down to Dominion yet but I really need to get off my butt and do it. I've got a wedding to go to that Sunday so that's out. It's a bit of a hike for a Thursday night from where I'm at given traffic and all. Do you have to be an SCCA member and how much track time do you get at those track night events?

You do not have to be SCCA. You get three 20 min sessions. Not bad for 150. The sponsor companies often offer a $25 discount code as well and there's always plenty of free swag at the events. I particularly like not having to commit a whole day for track time. I typically can get to work and still put in 7 hrs before cutting out which is kinda nice

I would love to go sometime but my car is just getting delivered on Sunday and I need to sort through it and then get it to a body shop to repair the paint damage.

It is decent fun track time in any sporty car really, even if you can't bring the 7. There will be a few more opportunities later this season amongst the various other organizations I'm sure. Also hey I'd definitely like to check out your car some time though when you think it's ready. Not many of us LS swapped around that I know of. I'm in Waldorf.

Oh yeah, totally agree. I used to track my old IS300 when the 7 project began. Sadly, the 350 needs tires to be able to go on a track right now.

Right now the 7 should be getting in this Sunday. Its going to a shop to do a once over on the mechanicals and clean up a few things such as the intake piping, wire up the reverse lock out, and get the AC components put in. After that it goes to D&V to get the paint fixed. Im hoping to have her done by late September/ early October. Im in Alexandria so you are welcome to come by any time after she gets back.

Looks like weather will be good tomorrow! I was going over the checklist and prepping the car and I found one of my front rotors had a big crack in it that went all the way through. I have two new rotors on the spare shelf but they were both for the rear :/ Called 4 different parts stores; 2 of them can't even get the part at all anymore. Advance has them in the system so I ran over there and put in an order that *should* arrive tomorrow by lunch. It'll be close, but if everything goes to plan, I'll still make it.

Matt, if all else fails I’ve got a set of new “e” coated stoptech blanks you can have if you order me another set from Rock Auto. They are sitting in my attic along with new HP + pads and other brake parts.
