to my knowledge WDCR is the only group that runs there.

Autocrossers inc used to, but now they only run in Waldorf.

I'd like to make it to a "big lot" AutoX again sometime. This weekend's not going to work though; got a Chumpcar race at Watkins Glen. 10 years ago when I last ran at an SCCA event, registration filled up within minutes of opening. Are they still crazy packed and hard to get into?

nope, they don't fill up anymore.

but they still don't allow on site registration I think. Something about FedEx not allowing it.

I'm in too, I'd like to try a large course as well. I might try and get down to one of the Autocrossers Inc. ones sometime too. I just hate online pay.

Is there anyone in this area that is reliable on rebuilding engines? My 13b needs to get a street port soon.. I will have motor out the car and taken over to whomever shop.. Trying to get the best price for this Economy lol ~ thanks everyone also is there a set list of parts to the tee that are used on the rebuild and/or most often replaced parts so I can start piecing them together?

Kevin Landers of Rotary Resurection is the man for budget rebuilds. Bit of a drive to TN but you can always ship.

That all gets determined once they open up your motor. They should measure tolerances and inspect surfaces to determine what needs to be replaced. No real way to know before hand unless you have a catastrophic failure. Once you determine your builder, ask them what rebuild kit/seals they prefer to use.

Just some friendly advice, a stock rebuild done right is much better/cheaper in the long run then a street port done on the cheap.

Kevin Landers at Rotary Ressurrection for sure. He probably has the quickest turn around as well.

+1

If you are worried about cost, do you have all the extra mods to support/maximize the extra power generated from a street port? If not, the the money spent on porting is wasted.

Autox with CDC this past weekend was nuts....there were a crapton of people (over 100). But I thought I would share how I did. I only added the rear shocks and new tires so far, and the car is completely different. One of the bolts was siezed in the front so I didn't have enough time to put the front coilovers on.

Rocky, I'll use Nate with the RX-8 as a comparison:

March:
Nate - 41.18
Rocky - 42.23

April:
Nate - 41.11
Wes - 42.43

You better be at the next one so we can battle. It seems that your spec-7 and my streetport are pretty even.

Yeah, I'm not sure if Nate modded his car this year or just got better at driving but I usually beat him. There is always the possibility I just sucked that day. Either way, I hope the cars are close. This should get fun.

putting the new front springs on will totally transform the car again

Has anyone tried a freeze-off product to remove a rusted bolt?
Welcome to: LoctiteŽ Freeze & Release

I have a rusted bolt that I went at with PB Blaster (soaked for several days in a row), an impact driver, and a breaker bar, but it'is not moving. Also, I heated it up with propane, because that's all I have right now. Nothing has worked.

My next move is getting this freeze-off stuff and maybe some Kroil. Any other ideas/input?

looks like it should work, it's basically works in the opposite way heat does. instead of expanding the nut, it shrinks the bolt. Let us know if it works :-P.

you should get some mapp gas instead of propane

Yeah I want to get something hotter, but I had the propane from doing some copper plumbing work.
