DC Area thread - The District, NoVa, Maryland
I'm currently in the middle of stripping powdercoat off a wheel. I'm using aircraft paint stripper and it's working surprisingly well on the powdercoat.

It was pretty expensive, $45/gallon... for just paint you might want to just go to home depot and get some paint stripper. it'll cost half the price. I got the aircraft stripper at advance auto.

Speaking of which... Recommend any good powercoating outfits in the area? I got a set of wheels prepped and coated years ago in MA and they came out really nice. Maybe I'll do the same for these instead of dealing with all the prep and paint myself for the nth time.

My wheels turned out decent, thankfully I only had to strip one, that sucked...

the 2 on the left are going to be for sale soon if anyone is interested

I'll have to check on the size when I get home but I do have a bigass socket for the FD flywheel. Cost/benefit tells me it's not worth the time/gas to drive to/from Herndon to where you're at to borrow it though unless you're already in the area for whatever reason.

I can rent a Zip Car and come out that way this weekend if that is ok? Do you have a breaker bar in addition to the socket?
Fendamonkey is not to far from a metro stop (easily walkable). That might be the most convenient if you are without transportation. PM him. (If KNONFS gives you his blessing to borrow it of course)

Yea I used an impact gun to get the nut off. I don't have a breaker bar with a 3/4" drive (what the socket takes) but I do have an adapter bit that lets you use the socket with 1/2" drive tools. You're welcomed to borrow them if you want to make the trip out here.
I can put up a brand new, unused Mazda OEM 20B thick center iron as collateral? And using the DC Metro would be the most ideal!
I havent had a chance to hit Fendamonkey. If the tools are available, you can definetly have them this weekend (looking at Sunday, cause I will not be around on Saturday)
Awesome. And thanks! I hit him up a couple times and working out the logistics.
