It was pretty expensive, $45/gallon... for just paint you might want to just go to home depot and get some paint stripper. it'll cost half the price. I got the aircraft stripper at advance auto.
update on this... it worked well at first, but getting the powercoat out of the unmachined cast aluminum parts of the wheel is a giant PITA. I'm sure it works a lot better on paint though.

Speaking of which... Recommend any good powercoating outfits in the area? I got a set of wheels prepped and coated years ago in MA and they came out really nice. Maybe I'll do the same for these instead of dealing with all the prep and paint myself for the nth time.

Anyone have a 54mm or 2-1/8" socket with breaker bar I could borrow? I'm in Takoma Park and can give a deposit.

I'll have to check on the size when I get home but I do have a bigass socket for the FD flywheel. Cost/benefit tells me it's not worth the time/gas to drive to/from Herndon to where you're at to borrow it though unless you're already in the area for whatever reason.

That is exactly what I need it for, so I can get the rear nut off my 20B. I had a Racing Beat set when I needed to take it off my 13B recently, but I parted with it. Stupid me...

I can rent a Zip Car and come out that way this weekend if that is ok? Do you have a breaker bar in addition to the socket?

I would also need a breaker bar that I would only use once. It is more viable for me to just borrow one. Thank you though!

The sooner, the better. But there is no real hurry. Where are you located?

Fendamonkey is not to far from a metro stop (easily walkable). That might be the most convenient if you are without transportation. PM him. (If KNONFS gives you his blessing to borrow it of course)

Yea I used an impact gun to get the nut off. I don't have a breaker bar with a 3/4" drive (what the socket takes) but I do have an adapter bit that lets you use the socket with 1/2" drive tools. You're welcomed to borrow them if you want to make the trip out here.

Thats correct. He can barrow it as long as there's some sort of deposit of similar value to the tools. Not trying to be an ***, but the dewalt impact gun is expensive

I can put up a brand new, unused Mazda OEM 20B thick center iron as collateral? And using the DC Metro would be the most ideal!

That will be more than enough. Let me hit Fendamonky, and I will respond back.

Gah, well, the more I think about it, the thick center iron is heavy as ****. How about my MoTeC CDL3 dash display, it's more easier to carry? Can I snag it this weekend?

That works too, just need you to cover up too $300. The motec display and 20B irons are an overkill.

I havent had a chance to hit Fendamonkey. If the tools are available, you can definetly have them this weekend (looking at Sunday, cause I will not be around on Saturday)

So if I were to borrow it, I would have to put up my entire car?
