My car has not really ever ran in 5 years. I've come to terms that no one can get it to run no matter who I take it to.

I didn't finish the car today Underestimated how long it takes to get all the fiddly bits back on.

I won't be putting in a door until the spring, since I don't want to open it up for during winter. Giving up at 4:30 is completely reasonable, I don't want to be outside when it's dark, that's when the vampires come out.

I have no excuse since I was working inside the garage except that my back was killing me. Not as young as I once was and a whole weekend of leaning over the engine bay and crawling around under the thing took its toll :P I plan to finish it up after work today/tomorrow and have it on the road hopefully by Wed when they're calling for nearly 60 degree weather

Congrats! I started mine up today, but it's still smoking coolant. It must be something from the exhaust manifold. Not too sure....

if the exhaust manifold still has coolant on it (or between it and the engine) it'll smoke for a while before all the coolant gets burned off...

Hopefully that is the cause. I'll be taking it off this weekend to double check.

I need a replacement rear end for my Spec7. Specifically the bearings are groaning and the differential is acting like an open diff (so either the one inside isn't a LSD like I've been told or it is worn out). Do you have any replacement rears ready to install? I think it is 4X110 but haven't measured. If not, PM me your cost to do the work fixing them, I think I already have the bearings.

To all:

I finally got the passenger seat installed. I am a rear end and harness away from heading out on track.

Excellent! My car moves under its own power once again. I still have to tune the PFC, replace some bushings, new tires, alignment and a few other fiddly things but I should be ready. Should I start looking at some track event dates?

The only rear end I have right now is in the car I have. I can rebuild your rear end for you. just give me a call at the shop and I can see what I can do to help you out.

So at my new apartment complex, part of the the roof collapsed. It looks like there was a water leak (or water pipe burst) and a concrete slap fell. It cracked my windshield and damaged my passenger side fender pretty bad. The BMW next to me is pretty beat up as well. I don't have renter's insurance and my deductible is $500. I'm so pissed because it took me forever finding a place that has a garage to protect it. What kind of firepower should I walk to my landlord with? I just cannot win with this ******* car...

Dude that sucks so hard.

I don't know the answer to your question but I'll ask some of the people I know that have places they rent. They may know something. First question though, did your lease agreement/landlord require you to get renters insurance? if so, I don't think you can do anything.

Check with Fritz for replacement parts. He has a post on here about selling a Brilliant Black painted CF hood, I wonder if he is parting the whole car or not. If not, there is a chance he could have what you need laying around anyway. Did it damage just the fender sheet metal or did it affect any of the substructure?
