You all missed another great weekend of events (well, almost all Mike actually showed up this time). Now you gotta wait till March

Here's a pic from Sunday where I was able to get the car up on 3 wheels

Mike how'd you end up in the afternoon, was the car cured completely?

yeah, but I didn't remember how to drive until the very last run when I ran a 45.8. The car still had no brakes all day though haha, but I knew that going in

I think I had 3 DNFs, and 1 off course

I'm guessing your brakes didn't come on Saturday?

They came, but when I went to install them I found one brake caliper seized and 2 that wouldn't move more than a 1/4" so I bailed and brought the spec.

I'll rebuild/replace them and get it ready for the spring.

Yeah, you might want to show up more

He won't have spares, the brakes are from a different vehicle. But I found somewhere that sells all 4 Re-manufactured calipers for $240 (with cores) so it looks like it will be a cheap fix.

One of the guys I work with has a full 12A drivetrain. Came out of 83 Tranny, motor, radiator, dizzy, starter etc. Says it has ~100K on. He took it apart and checked all the apex seals and everything met spec before going back together. Anybody who is interested let me know and I will forward on the contact info.

Anyone with an FC in the area interested in a Walboro 255lph pump? It's a complete drop in for the FC, new pump, new sock and it's installed on the sending unit. Just pull the lines off your assembly and drop this one in.
I'm going with a Bosch pump and don't need this, we can work out a deal.

Hey guys I've got some 2nd gen stuff for sale. Just check for threads started by me.
Aluminum NA hood, 5 lug conversion parts and brakes, vert BBS wheels, rhino ramps and a gearbag. I would rather sell local then have to ship anything. Thanks.

Since this December weather is so warm out, I finally got around to draining my coolant and inspecting the intake freeze plugs. Turns out the quarters the previous owner installed were no longer sealed. I should have replaced them when I rebuilt the engine last year, but you live and learn. Now it's time to clean it up and put it back together.

One good thing.....I got $0.50 out of this

btw, I finally got a passenger seat! Not installed yet, but still! Now I only need another harness, fix the Diff, and replace the wheel bearings and then it's track time!

WooOOoo, progress.

wow... that's awesome....

steel freeze plugs are only $0.49 I guess going with a $0.25 coin is cheaper

hurry up Rocky!

I just replaced the front studs on my car so they're actually long enough for my 10mm spacers to fit my 17x9s. and redid my grounds for the millionth time to try to get my car to start under it's own power, we'll see how that works....

I also discovered my battery is fairly heavy...

it's also 10 years old at this point... so I ordered a 16 lb motorcycle battery fingers crossed it's powerful enough. the smaller 11 lb one in my corolla works awesome.

That's a big weight difference. Will it matter that much since you relocated your battery?

Not as much... my reducing weight is always helpful. especially since I'm trying to offset the weight of my 50 lb roll bar....

-30 lbs from the battery + -22 lbs from S5 seat belts =

of course my 6 pt. harnesses probably weighed 5 lbs each...

Anyone know anywhere locally that can media-blast a set of wheels for not too much? These darn things are so spoke-y, I never want to have to sand them down by hand ever again.

Or you can find a place that will do it chemically, its probably less expensive then media blasting!?

I would check with powder coating places to see what they use!

If you are just going to paint them again, buy some aircraft paint stripper and borrow a pressure washer. I did that when I repainted the stock wheels. I sand blasted them afterwards but realy didn't need to (mostly for corrosion on the inner wheel).

I'm currently in the middle of stripping powdercoat off a wheel. I'm using aircraft paint stripper and it's working surprisingly well on the powdercoat.

Klean-Strip AutomotiveŽ

It was pretty expensive, $45/gallon... for just paint you might want to just go to home depot and get some paint stripper. it'll cost half the price. I got the aircraft stripper at advance auto.
