so you did decide to go with pbm? in another couple months I will provide a review in the pbm thread here, but will be comparing to my stock suspension (not blown). I've been in other cars with coils but you can't compare between models as cars are just too different so thats all I can do. I'm psyched.
btw, anyone tell me how to get the damper adjusters out? they go in straight down from the top I guess, got them with them in there, but they don't seem to be coming out by pulling. guy I bought them from said something about a small allen screw I might have to loosen or something.

If I can't find any new/used coils in the sub-$500 range once taxes are in, I may just pull the idiot card and buy new Tokico Illuminas, and mod them to fit my sleeves. At that point they'd be adjustable, and last a little while.
I'm definitely pulling the 10k/8k Tanabes out, too stiff. Tossing in my GC 8k/6k set, the 10/8s are going on the Conquest drift missile.
Im gonna swap all my currant trubo stuff over, while building a new block on the side. My currant setup murders, new one should be fucked up

so ive got KYB's that came with the car, i want to rock a budget drift setup this season, what do you guys think of putting some ground control coilover sleeve over's from ebay on there? once winter hits the car's getting knifed, im just looking to get my feet wet this season.

Yeah, that's my dilemma. I want to kinda just do something to stiffen ip the suspension. This winter it will get full coils, modded knuckles, and supporting suspension stuff. I just want seat time this year.
^ Do what you think is best but Kyb is pretty stiff already. If you really want to something like that switch the springs out with something better. I was gonna go with Rsr race springs but ill just hold out for the coils. Rsr is only about a third of the price that the conversion kit you want is. maybe a little less even. This way you still have some cash left over.

Just do the KYBs with sleeves. Make sure they're at most a 7" long spring though, I've got 7" long 10k Tanabe Pro210s on the front of mine, and with the coil sleeve all the way down its' at stock height. Without the sleeve [just spring, uber ghetto and not recommended] its' maybe 1" lower.

^ thanks. My car seems to be firm, it's just got a lot of roll and it's too high.. I'm looking to get a decent stance ASAP. I've been thinking about FD rims with spacers for now. They are light, look good and cheapish.


If you know verts, you know how much i have taken out so far. all the stiching was done with the car in teh air, and spreaded. Cage material is here, but im now without a job and a place to work on it. As soon as I find space cage is going in. Boo Ya.
Anyway, i parted it out and got like $800 for my 8's and 9's. SHP wheels ARE gold, they even had blemishes. lol
I'm trying to skimp where i can as an unforseen expense came up with my build (blown front coilovers and bent to **** camber plates).
Hockey puck tranny mounts anyone?
And what the hell to do about steering rack bushings? Should i just use some intended for another car? If so, what fits?

Thanks for all the people that tried to help me figure out my understeer problem. It turns out one of my front tires had a small air leak and that my passenger side front tire was at ~10 psi.
Was lowering the car, took the wheel off, dropped it waiting for it to bounce back up and it want thump.
ANYWAYS, MUCH MUCH much better now. I had almost no pushing unless I did something flat out wrong, and now that the car is lowered a good amount I was confident enough to start linking corners without massive oversteer whiplash.
Here is the rear as low as it can go, and front dropped a good 1.5-2 inches.

Other then knuckles and possibly a real LSD down the road, I am not quite sure what else I should do to the car. I need to work on timing and linking more drifts, but that should come with track time.

^No way! Hahaha. HOw do you guys find this kind of stuff out? If thats not a budget mount idk what is. It does make sence though. Hockey pucjs are solid as hell. How long do they last though?
i dont know about the rest of the country but i think salt lake has been using hockey pucks since 07. i do remember some cali guys coming down once for a drift event and they hadnt seen it before. probably originated from the rock crawling/truck guys though.
This sounds incredibaly inexpensive. If they break you just get another puck. Things break on frift machines often anyway. Has anyone tried using pucks for engine mounts that you know of? Would that even work?
