ECU is here, wiring harness almost finished, and should the chassis side installed soon.
Still waiting on engine. Not going to order injectors or EWP until engine is in possession and fitment/parts are verified. They've sent the final quote for shipping etc, but not an ETA yet. Hopefully soon.
and God bless the USA.

Is this builder incredibly swamped or just really, really slow?
Even as complex a job as it is, how many months has this been?
Given the value of the job, you might should have made them sign a contract regarding the delivery date, with penalties for lateness.

Even though the build is later than projected, if still completed in reasonable time from hereon, with quality work, it's still a mighty achievement in relatively respectable time frame. It would just be nice to have known a realistic ETA from beginning, but all is good.
Right now, our country is in state of stress, and important that we all think positive and stay safe!
Wishing you guys well

Hey man, are you doing most of the work from a storage unit? If so, is it a regular public storage place? I would love to do something similar (taking everything apart, painting it, and putting everything back together)
I looked into a storage place around my area couple of decades ago, and none of them would let me work on the car

Yes all in a storage unit. Yes regular public. I'm technically not allowed to do this either on a car, but it wasn't considered a car when I started We are allowed to store vehicles but not work on them, however management loves it, just have to keep cool with them and clean-up, keep bay shut and don't disturb anyone/make a mess.
The painting was not done here, that was done at a friends detached garage.
A shop would be alot better as I do not have air tools, water, or a lift. But, gotta make due with whats available, and that makes the journey more rewarding.

Even more unusual is that your unit has electricity. Most storage units don't come with that since it'd just encourage some people to live in there along with the fire hazard. Not many storage places want to take that risk. I looked around my area and haven't seen any with that. It'd be nice since using battery operated tools sucks when trying to get work done!

Its awesome how the most wickedly built rx7's out there seem to come from storage units, if I remember correctly Len Bacon's 7 second FD was built in a real mini storage unit.
Just proves that if you are dedicated nothing can stop you. Keep on killin it! I feel your pain on waiting on a motor, my next one is coming from a fresh build that is currently in a friends car...who is in Germany until December...with his car in NC...while I'm in TX.
I'm sure it will all pan out and be even more awesome when it does.

Yea, len bacon has been doing some incredible things, and he works in a storage unit too
Yea its getting increasingly frustrating. Fingers crossed it comes through soon enough, certainly going to go full force when it shows, motivation level can't be contained much longer
BTW, the fuel system drawings/build you are doing looks great

Thanks. I'm going to be in full force mode when mine finally arrives too, I'm going nuts waiting on it. While making progress on the little stuff and the supporting things is good, it still feels super slow to me. I'll be posting an updated cad stuff here soon that will reflect the system as I've got it planned now. Later this week I'll be mating the transmission to my rear iron in my garage to take measurements and start designing a scatter-shield. It seems to me the FD community as a whole doesn't have alot of scatter-shield options that don't cost an arm and a leg for a piece of raw bent steel.
Anyways, back to your thread! Awesome progress man keep it up. Looking forward to updates.

Hopefully soon guys!
A while back I told them to add the peterson external oil pump so we can push 11k rpms with no worries and maintain over 120+psi pressure up there. I believe this is whats holding them up at this point. Hopefully it should be finished soon. They've told me it should be shipping end of this week. Again, we'll see!
Meantime, EB Turbo has done an absolutely tremendous job on the wiring harness. This guy is so above and beyond it's truly unreal. He even requested to have the Racepak dash send to him so he could program all of the sensors and calibrate the tables. He's ran the ECU on the test bench, tested the CAS firing, all the inputs/outputs. Hands down incredible so far!
Its great to know that everything should be working correctly on the ECU end this time, as some of you may have seen the 20b build, there was some major run-around for a good 3 months chasing ecu problems, first with the faulty microtech and etc. This go around definite peace of mind in the Haltech. Its truly worth spending the extra money for EXPERIENCE from a true professional. Having functional hardware is good, but having someone in your corner who is motivating, can answer questions, and is dead-set on seeing your project run is another level.
He's now making FD harnesses for the 13b-rew. Check him out.
After a few weeks off, I guess its time to install the firewall connector and all the wiring on the interior side, reassembling the dash, etc this week when the box arrives.
The OS Giken twin-plate has been sold and now looking for something insane, that holds at least 800+ ft/lbs. Really want to just flat out destroy the transmission. The mission isn't complete until we completely obliterate the SOB. Reason for getting the beef clutch now, is so that when upgrading to the sequential box, the t56, or doing straigh-cut gears 1-4 in the OEM case, the clutch can be retained. Whatever comes of this, I'm determined to keep the manual bell-housing/starter setup. If the input-spline count changes, most clutch companies now offer custom discs that can be swapped out. Tentatively looking at the Exedy Triple Cerametallic. Does anyone know of a carbon clutch for FD that can hold 700+ ft/lbs? The exedy triple carbon version is actually only 550 rating.
One step closer.
When the quad rotorium arrives, there will be no f*cking around
