I must say. The speed this is going together is quite impressive when you look at most builds. I guess you are working on it pretty much full time? Great work send me some of what ever you are taking for motivation and energy so I can get on and finish mine!

Thanks guys,

Lou, sorry man, my phone is basically a perpetual explosion device that goes off constantly, can't even keep up. I'll call you back soon man!

Leeroy, thanks man. I see your project was on the dyno. Awesome feeling !

wish I could work on it full time! I just take every opportunity of free time to work on the car. Work at 730am-4pm, and the storage unit is on the way to/from work. So usually stop in around 430-5pm, work / think until around 1am. Its not so much speed but just always making sure at least something gets done, even if its installing a few bolts.

Sad news is haven't heard a word yet on engine since meeting them a month ago. And the other customer's is overdue too, so unfortunately, may come to a halt here shortly for unknown period of time.

Anyhow, this forum and you guys are alot of the motivation and energy! Thanks

Yes it made the dyno. Nerve racking as well as awesome. The sound is unreal! Not quite the result I hoped for but I couldn't really do much about a duff wastegate spring! If you find yourself at a loose end waiting for an engine I could find you a few things to do here if you fancy a trip to the UK!

ok looks like it was just slow communication, things are still making progress and I assume the other guys engine made it out now so all should still be moving along.

so tonight will continue with fuel system fittings, should have some updates of the wiring/surge tank setup as promised soon. thanks guys

yes the sound is unreal.

there's a frequency that travels through the room/body of the 120* firing angle. No video can match the vibration. Its amazing.

Happy for you, seen you working on this thing for a good long while.

Hell, id love to come to the UK!

Need to clean this thing up. Super dusty in this storage unit with no water access!

-Waiting on a few fittings to show up and the Electronic Fuelab Regulator, so can run the Feed and Return lines to the engine bay

-Next, run 0 gauge wire to starter area, zip tie it up somewhere out of the way
-Install watercooler lines run to bulkhead fittings on firewall
-Install Rotor Magazine's custom coil bracket and the D514A coils, make coil wiring harness and power wire to fuse box
-Connect Brake lines to calipers and bleed brakes
-Install Floor Plugs
-Install the crotch strap harness connectors to floor board

That is a feel good picture for sure! One word for it. EPIC! That turbo is something else!
Love the idea of the charge cooler. I might look into that for my 20b. I have always wondered if they cool as efficiently? Also does it take up much more room than a stock plenum? Must do? Although that looks quite compact. Great for turbo response I should think? I wonder if my convoluted intercooler routing might cause me a bit of lag?

You have your battery ground attached to the exact same spot as me.

How much of that engine is stuffed behind the firewall?

Looking awesome man! Why fuse box in the trunk? Are they buss man? I would imagine power wires would be really long which may drop voltage? Otherwise, this is every rotor heads wet dream. Makes me want to redo my whole car lol!

I first thought you're going with methanol injection but then I noticed your upper intake manifold is little fatter than it should be. Is that built-in air-water? That's f'ing awesome!! Great idea man!

Hey man,

Yea so its suppose to be more efficient then air-to-air, with the downside being weight, fans, water pump, potential for leaks etc. Hopefully, if all works out correctly, it should be able to keep intake temps down without affecting radiator temps. Thanks!

I don't believe any of it is is behind the firewall, it should bolt to the stock location

Thank you, yes yesir!

I just wanted to be able to get to everything very easily. Easier access/diagnosis than leaning underdash, and also kinda gets everything out of the engine bay.

Yea, the concern for voltage drop was there, but each output has appropriate size wiring for the distance. The headlights hi/lo have been ran with 10ga and seem to light up great, and mulit-meter doesn't show much voltage drop. For example, an 8ga will be sent up to the radiator fans.

Thanks alot man really appreciate it!

Hey mate, I'm pleased to see you're a little more at ease about PPRE, they are few hours south of me but I've known the owner for at least 10 years, they are the real deal and you will be satisfied with their work!

P.S while I was there having my 7 tuned (by the guy photographed fabbing your inlet) they were painting the engine bay jig your block/turbo is sitting in 😉.

All the best, subscribed to an epic build.

Hey buddy,

Thank you for that note!

Yes, definitely at ease. They are doing tremendous work, and in the grand scheme, its really something great that they offer. They were really cool to meet in person as well. Its certainly looking as promised!!

I'd love to see your project if you could send me a PM sometime. Thats so cool you saw this stuff up close!!

Maybe one day I can take a trip over to the land of rotary insanity!

Just looking back at the charge cooling again. I presume you run a separate radiator and water pump for this? Bit more weight to it maybe and space for things to plumb in.. but then you have't got a dirty great intercooler up front! I really like the short neat pipe run. think I will have to explore the option down the road when I am up and running properly.

Hey leeroy here's the setup for cooling the intercooler coolant.

This is old pic. The lines are now almost all ran, and I'm working on some ducting ideas. The fan will be removed from right side cooler in a few weeks when I get to making plexiglass windows for the doors. A NACA type duct will be installed on the plexiglass window driverside, with ducting ran directly into the driver side cooler.

So, the fan will run on a temp ground switch from ECU. The ducted cooler will receive forced air from speed of vehicle. This way we have heatsoak elimination in traffic with the fan side, and forced air when in motion.

Until then, just using two fans for now.

The large box contains a bilge pump that flows 2,000GPH. Its cheap and easy to replace if it wears out. This will circulate the water through the system. The fitting on lower right side of box (looking into picture) has a 90* coming off and running 10an line down in front of the cooler, through the floor pan with a valve. This valve can be opened to drain the water, so that ice can be utilized and the water level can be maintained.

Ice may prove effective on super hot days to eliminate traffic heatsoak at gas stations. I imagine just flip the drain for a few second. Toss in some ice from the drink machine. Fill up gas, hit the road. lol

We'll see how it works, but for now, the plan is zero heat exchangers in the nose of the car besides the radiator and oil coolers. This should eliminate blockage to radiator, make it easier for fans to pull air, keep charge piping way shorter, less couplers for boost leak potential, and less heatsoak all around. Also keeps some weight off the front end.

The plumbing isn't too extreme. Its really just 2x 10an hoses, that run next to each other from the left side (pictured) cooler to the remaining firewall holes from the heater core. Waiting on some bulk-head fittings to install in those holes. The engine will just have two hoses connected front/rear of the UIM, which will connect to bulkheads.

Thanks man!
