Mines all in the rear too. If you don't have all the junk under the dash (heater, A/C, etc...) another good option is to put all fuse boxes there (in an accessible manner of course) and then a single power and ground back to the battery. This makes the runs much shorter.
Doesn't really matter all that much, just another option. I have heard that the signals to the coils should be as short as possible though.
Damn thats a good idea behind the dash, prob going to stick the haltech box and ecu there!
Yea man, def going to keep ECU up front and keep the trigger wires short so there's less chance of interruption
I was thinking adaptronic on my next build. I thought u liked the 1280 after u worked out the issues on ur 20b.
To be completely honest,
There's some cars in my area that received full sponsorship on the 1280s and other adaptronic computers, literally right down the street from me. These cars haven't come close to completing a 3 rotor, nor are they a race team or shop, nor have they even powered up the 1280s. So I'm not interested in paying for their $2,000 computer again and supporting it with a 26b, especially after having risked a $10,000 motor on it with firing order issues while 13b's and 20b's that don't run are getting free parts down the road. Not saying that I'm looking for handouts, but there's just some things behind the scene that don't settle right. May sound trivial, but principals are important.
Haltech is far more proven, mad mike cars use it, and uses CAN input to the Racepak, also is recommended by PPRE. PPRE is sending a basemap as well for the computer.

-Taillight harness and middle brake light harness finished
-Onto finishing up looming, assembling 2nd fuse box and wiring and looming
-Body panels are finished, except for rear hatch, may install the Friday
*knicked a dime size chip in paint next to fuel door, from clearance issue. So this weekend, will be taping off the car and touching up that area. Need to shave gas door as won't clear over fenders for odd reason. Then for final buffing with body panels.
Priorities right now are:
1. finish wiring chassis
2. buff the wetsanded parts / repair knick near gas door
3. intall bodypanels and see how she sits!
From here:
1. connect lines to calipers and bleed brakes
2. install main fuel pump and run all possible lines
3. install oil coolers and run all possible lines
4. run all possible intercooler hoses
5. 16an fittings welded to radiator
6. Replace/Find coolant overflow tank
7. Mount the coil brackets on frame rail and install coils
8. Order engine harness from Ludwig or Make
After the above is complete, should just be waiting for the engine/installing engine/harness/hooking everything up!
Question:
Do you guys think the wing should be left Carbon or paint the center section black to match car?

What was it risk with the 20B? Was multiple firing orders not available when you had yours?
..... Many have kids, get married, and drop off the face of the planet.......
HA! So true.
I read this build everyday as I find it incredibly motivating. I also fall squarely into the above sentence with a garage full of high end parts that I've collected for 10+ years now, 2 chassis, a built 20b, etc, etc. and nothing to drive.
Keep it up! When done, your car will be beyond words to drive and I can only imagine the satisfaction we'll all get from it

My mood fluctuates time to time in this thread but let me say, no matter what, at the end of the day, hearing stuff like this is what keeps the motivation sky high.
I've been inspired and motivated by so many people on this forum, YouTube, etc. And its never been these typical sponsor cars. Always guys with guts doing it on their own. Cars like 1bad20b, silver6portFD, list goes on. And from reading their build threads it gave courage, ideas, and motivation.
If this thread gives back even a inch of that inspiration to others in the community, I will push to the end !!
So the Monsterbox 3 rotor sold again this week! The new owner is way way way cool. Spoke with him today. Super stoked buyer who takes pride in his cars. He owns a detail shop and has cleaned this thing up to perfection.
We have made plans to get the 4 rotor and the 3 rotor car together for a joint video/photoshoot to show the similarities in colors/body lines and performance between the two!
Its so cool to be on this side of the fence. Having put in hours of work, and see someone enjoy a car in the same way! The universe is an interesting place.
SO MOTIVATED RIGHT NOW....get me a freakin' engine already so we can move the earth off its axis!
In light of things, I know Zack posted a sketch rendering of a logo for his upcoming shop. This one still needs to be tweaked and a rotor housing will be added to the picture, but let me know what you guys think!

Wow thanks Justin, thats extremely cool!!
Let's get your 20b up and running as soon as the suspension work is finished!
I love this thread! My car was stuck in storage for years with no hope of it seeing the road anytime soon. One day I randomly searched 3 rotor FDs on YouTube and watched one of your videos and it just blew me away. Then I realized you were on RX7Club and just read through pages and pages of your build thread in one night. It made me have that itch again to get my car on the road finally, so thanks for that!
I'll be eagerly watching this build too. Thanks for being part of the community!

This morning want to take the time to thank you guys for following, motivating, and inspiring. Your feedback keeps the vision alive.
And also want to say, although the build is a vision that I see, its not all of my work, and credit is due where it belongs.
My buddy Jason, seen in the beginning of the thread finished up these panels and did an incredible job to detail. I'm going to cut and buff the panels, finish and spot repair on the car and have them on shortly.
Want to thank Nathan Jonard (Silver6portFD). If you guys haven't seen his build thread, please take time to check it out, he's very good at what he does, and major inspiration. Has spent a lot of time keeping me in check and pointing in the right directions. Also has a very nasty v-mount 20b, which to me is my favorite RX-7.
JZW and RBKouki for coming up with some cool logo types. JZW is about to smash the USA with a WICKED 88mm Turbo 20b that no one has even heard or seen...just wait. RBKouki lives nearby and drives a wicked 99 spec and supra always been cool.
Zachariah Richardson from Eccentric Performance, Matt Vincent from RotorsMagazines. Both serious rotorheads, wish they were on these forums.
There's too many people to thank for helping in this process.
Hotel California, thanks for the support, if you guys if you ever see this
Hope to keep pushing, waiting to see more of what happens from this engine.
