While I love this quote and fully agree, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Top Gear UK make this happen somehow.

So I was finally able to get over to the shop this morning to get some stuff done. But firstly I wanted to clear some things up. Some people have mis-interpreted what i said about Bj's shop in a post earlier. I paid in full for the turbo manifold, IC and RAD set up. I in no way got them for free.

anyways.. onto the Updates!!:

^ the filter I picked up from autozone. It's cheap...and it probly sucks..but it'll work till I order a nice little K&N. Going to breath from the oil filler neck and the back passenger side Iron. 2 an-6's should be enough to prevent that god aweful choo choo chain smoke puffs I used to get all the time
Bj put 2 mounting tabs on it and then found a nice little spot for it on the drivers side wheel well.

I think I might make 2 sheet metal covers for the wheel wells just to keep the dirty out of the bay.

Also started making ducting for the Intercooler. Used cardboard... worked like a charm.

decided to cut the bumper support.. it just screwed everything up and was all in the way.. so it had to go. I'll make something else to mount the front bumper... or maybe i'll go quick release.

Also got the Turbo Manifold Supports cut and mocked up. This will take all the load off the tubing and prevent cracking from the weight of the turbo.

Thanks Benny!,...that's all BJ. But it wouldn't line up correctly without the little bends.

Dont Worry just do it Im in the same boat Ive just finished my engine bay build assembly and got to tear it down to do a rebuild on the motor
I feel for ya cause its easy to think it up but the reality is long hours of labour and as carefully thought out as you can there is always hicups.
At least you seem to own a lot of your own equipment and know how to use it

Little Update:

So I started more ducting work. You know I realize that I shouldnt make the ducting work too customized...if that makes any sense. For instance what if I decide to run a different front bumper? I don't want to have to re work my ducting in order to change bumpers etc. With that said.. I decided to make the ducting in 2 sections. The first section part of my IC/rad set up, and the second section part of my bumper/Aero. But anyways...onto Pics:

first off..got these bad *** gloves...

an finally 95% done. Don't have very sturdy bumper mounts yet so everything looks tweaked as the IC wasn't in there straight but Everything will be nice level and symetrical I also need to pull the lower duct up about 3 inches as it's a little too close to the ground for my liking. But this is what the duct set up will look like for the most part. All that's left is a back side shroud for the IC...possibly Radiator if there is room. The areas to the left and right have been left for brake ducts and a CAI for my Urbo

I also had to order another jet kit from AEM for my Water Methanol Injection kit. I accidently sold my elbow with the jet in it to a member here about a year and a half ago..score for him(gean) **** for me haha because it was 60 damn dollars for something I could've machined. but it did come with a nice new filter so I guess it's worth it. Anyways... I'm slightly limited to where I could put the bung just because the charge piping is so short. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it took some thinking. Then it popped into my head.. my TB had a nice little vac port on it. So I pulled it off and tapped it for my bung.

are you going to add more ducting for something else on the sides of the IC/RAD? if not i would "flare/angle" the duct wider so it goes around the bumper opening... it will get slightly more air flow but more importantly it will look better lolll

like this... just my .02

You know I was thinking about it...but I kind of want the openings on the side for brake ducts. They'll be shrouded alum as well I've pretty much given up my "visual cool points" by not going with a traditional V-mount or Front Mount. They do look really cool. But I just wanted to try something different and when it works and performs great... I don't mind not having a major visual appeal Now if I could find some High CFM slim fans that arent 400 dollars haha.

Im all for ducts for brakes. I just hate when people go through all the trouble to custom duct it but leave some of it empty!!

ps BULLSHIT. so many cool points for dump tubes out of the hood. that might be the coolest thing i have ever seen.

PSS i love this build thread because it actually has pictures =)
