^ Are they gonna stick out of the hood a little or gonna be flush? Can't wait to see this thing run, but why the 2 couplers with the BOV pipe?

^Exactly!!! I have everything set pretty far back towards the motor. And I actually originally had one tube attached to the I/C with the BOV on it but I wanted to be able to rotate the BOV and also have room to get down below the tube without taking the UIM off or the IC out... having a separate tube makes all that possible. More prone to leaks? ....yes..but I'll just make sure everything is nice and tight, and if it leaks anyways... then i'll look to install some knock off wiggins =-)

Small update:

So i had a couple hours free today and got the holes cut in my hood for the wastegates... Took me a while to get it done without gnarfing up my hood. But I think it came out good. Love the angle on them and how they're slightly off line =-)

FIrst I cut a template

Size: 565.0 KB
then I traced the template onto the hood
Name: IMAG1770.jpg
Views: 122
Size: 456.1 KB
then cut some rough holes
Name: IMAG1771.jpg
Views: 133
Size: 336.0 KB
and used my fine dremel bit to clean it up till I was happy with how they fit

End result....I love it...looks much better in person too

Come on down!! i'll give ya a ride!! If it were my daily...i'd definitely reconsider. Not looking forward to getting pulled over. It'll be a good time.. and it'll make people think "WTF is that?" Representing hard for the pure essense of performance that is "Rotary Powered."

That looks great. You thought about clearancing the hood a little more towards the driver's side? Because it's going to be hot as ****. I'd worry about it deforming the hood or peeling the clear.

^ you know I actually trimmed it another 1/4 inch on the drivers side after this for that reason. I'm gonna put some thermo-tec heat barrier on the underside if the hood but if it does warp...oh well :-)

You should get inconnel heat shields on them and you will be good!

Small Update:

After cutting the hood I decided to get to work on the last real components to my set up... Oil/coolant lines for the turbo. So at first I really wanted to do stainless braided lines to keep everything moveable...but I had some spare tube laying around and all I needed was one fitting..so I got to work on some hard lines.

first was the Oil feed...

Then the water feed line
Name: IMAG1786.jpg
Views: 148
Size: 1.12 MB
and from this angle it looks completely pointless as it looks like there are a bunch of useless bends going this wat and that.. But the horse shoe looking bend under the turbo is for my Oil drain. This way the line's wouldn't have the chance of rubbing or rattling together.

And lastly, the Water drain. Now i'll have to check the garrett faq page again..but I may have to re-do this line for thermal siphoning. I think Garrett says to take advantage of thermal siphoning the water drain must not be higher than the inlet to the system.. Or was it the highest point in the cooling system? I an't remember....if I got it wrong..i'll have to go ahead and re do the line as best as possible. But there are very limited options as how to route the line already... All the lines will need DEI heat sleeving though... otherwise they'll just get too hot for my peace of mind out there on the track!

I wasn't able to get the oil drain line done because I am missing the fitting/flange that goes from the block to the line. I'll have to order one asap!!...this line will be - AN10 and stainless braided. Big oil drain is a "need."

lines look like they will cop plenty of heat man, what i did for mine was cut and bend them up, then flare one end and before flaring the other end of the pipe i slid that DEI fire sleeve over it, marked how long i needed it and cut it, then bunched it up on the pipe so i could get the end flared and then the fire lseeve sit snugly just touching the backs of the tube nuts. i'd do that for all of your lines if you could. but looking pretty ******* boss other than that man keep it up!

ahhh... yes!! DEI fire sleeve is a must.. All the hard lines will get DEI'd haha But I may have to re-make the oil feed line because it is the only line that actually has flares and fittings on both sides. I won't be able to get the fire sleeve on unless I re-make it...and I don't want it all loose and sloppy so I'll have to re-make that one. What size DEI do you use for -6AN? and for the much smaller oil feed you see there? I believe it's -4AN.. Thanks for the input!!

5/8th for dash 6 and 3/8 for dash 4. Also, DEI does make a velcro style fire sleeve. Not cheap, but preferable to re-making an oil line

You should have tapped your water housing for fittings!!!

Doesn't take much at all. I highly recommend it. Looks SOOOO much better than running clamps everywhere.

Just sayin

Yea... your right...but you won't see any of the clamps and the performance aspect of it....especially with the high grade hose i'm using is hardly worth it. If you sit and study it..you may see one of the clamps. Remember I still have heavy ducting that will steal most of the show anyhow haha. But your not allowed to give me advice till you get yourself a nice space heater, a couple thermals and get out into that freezing garage to finish work on your car!!!

I havn't gotten much time to work on the car but I did order the rest of the fittings for my turbo oil drain. Also, going to go healp a fellow rotary enthusiast out with his 3rd gen tonight after work. Updates soon!
