With the crazy pricing I've seen we may want to simply jump straight to 50k LOL
At that price point pretty much any FD starts to get hard to sell.
However in 2 or 3 years in will probably be the norm price.

Hello everyone, been ages since I’ve been here. I’ve owned 3 CYMs. One was a Speedvision cup car, one was a NASA TT car (both sold) and the third, which I still own, came out of Gil Nickel’s car collection. Gil, owned the Far Niente winery along with Dolce and Nickel and Nickel Wineries. He was quite well known in Historic Racing circles as well. The car can be seen in the back of the photo from an article in Forbes found here:

Car has about 45k on it and is bone stock save for the “Gil Nickel Signature Stripe”
Any thoughts as to value? I can certainly post more pics.
Thanks!
-Michael

There was a decent 94 BB with a new engine etc.... that sold for 25k: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1994-mazda-rx-7-41/
I'd list on BAT. You should get at least 25k if it's clean.

This should be interesting: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1993-mazda-rx-7-102/
Could go for less than 30k because it's a Canadian car.

Give us some details, miles,is it stock interior all good usual wear on seat bolster? don't know if previous owners name adds anything?
It looks good,I'm not personally feeling the stripes,I can't tell if paint is faded or pictures funky,
A good paint correction will fix it most likely.

The car has 45,300 mikes on it. Paint is pretty perfect as far as fade goes. There are a few small nicks here and there but that’s about it. It lived in Gil’s carriage house with the rest of his collection and has spent its life with me, garaged.Gil was a famous, wealthy businessman who owned several famous Wineries. His car collection, housed at the Far Niente winery was world renowned. Gil is one of only a few American FIA world champions. Albeit his championship was in a historic series. I posted a link to Forbes article in post above. Interior completely stock, very slight wear on drivers side bolster. A suede brush might bring it back to 98%... Engine etc.. Completely stock. As far as the stripe goes, that’s a Gil Nickel thing. He had it on all his race cars. Just had a CA smog about a month ago. Runs flawlessly.
Thanks again,
-Michael

As far as compression test goes, no problem. Rick is still around. I’ll video the whole thing and post it to YouTube..??..

That’s what I was thinking. Back in 2008, when I purchased the car, Farmers insurance wanted it appraised. They provided me with an appraiser they were comfortable with. Back then, the car appraised for $36,000.00. I have that appraisal. Part of my curiosity, (maybe sell, maybe hang on to it) is what is current the market value from the boards perspective. I know I need a new appraisal at very least, but still wondering what is happening here on the forum. I’ve been removed from all of this for more than a decade, trying to get caught up.
Thanks,
-Michael

Last 3 CYM on BaT, you can kind of get a feel of what to expect.

Transmission rebuild at that low of mileage? What was the damage when pulled apart? I'm just curious. My R1 had around 150K on it with the original transmission without issue. Those old rock hard tires are good burners for people that are just learning how to drift with a lower horsepower car. I'm glad to see some of these FDs go to people that will be caring for them. It's almost painful any more to see so many of these hacked up cars.
