That wouldn't happen to be a 13B-RE with a T04-R strapped to the side, would it?

they do very rough teching at the san jaoquin fairgrounds: tugged on the battery, inspected the interior or the car, visually inspected the brakes and wheels, not much aside from that.. but i ran in the street tire class so they may not have been as thorough with us as they would with the SS classes.

Close......

Why yes it is, but it is a T04S vs. the R. Zoom, zoom, zoom.

Unfortunately the 99 gas tank and extra cosmo pump (I want to run twin pumps) didn't get installed this weekend due to scheduling snafus. Once that is in then we'll get dyno numbers.

Beast, cool to see the new motor!!

Looks like Berry and I won't be there after all. Plans have been changed and I'm going to be in Texas on business when the event happens. I should still be able to make the June run at Mather field though. Sorry that my schedule keeps flopping around like this. Just another reason to really love the Air Force.

that sucks you won't be able to make it Zach, i kind of wanted to see Berry beat up Jake.

i'll look into if the wheel lugs are replaceable on your axles so we can get your car ready for the autocross.

Oh darn, I was about to freak out, because when i dropped off my car to Chris Green for tuning (Wolf USA), I saw a VR 3rd Gen. RX-7 that had a T04R/BIG Street Port 13B-RE under the hood parked at his house. Apparently that beast was in the vicinity of 650rwhp...I don't know if your car is going to be that wild, but it seems beasly nonetheless.

Oh yeah, count me in for this time, I need to get some autocrosses under my belt.

Thanks for looking into it Ben. If anyone wants to see pictures of my buddy's 10th AE with a 3 rotor, click on this link. I'm interested to see what you guys think of it.

I think Chris was pulling your leg a bit....

Weeelllll, unless Chris is sleeping around on me, that was my car. I don't think he has another customer with a VR 3rd gen with a 13b-re single in it. I think he is stretching things a bit - yes, the ports are big, and yes, I have 850/1600s, but he knows its a T04S and not an R, and to get to the kinds of levels he was quoting, you'd need to go with ~30 lbs of boost and an alcohol fuel, and you'd be pushing the absolute limit. Theoretically possible, and there are a couple of East Coast folks doing it for cars that are not really streetable with that kind of setup (yes, they drive them on the street, but unless they are very wealthy, they are not daily drivers). I think I'm going to keep this at the more sane and safe ~ 400 rwhp level.

Now, to get to the 600+ rwhp level, you're better off with the 3 rotor like the clean install on the 10th AE posted above, but with a T-7x or T-8x turbo. I do eventually plan on creating this car into such a beast, for track only. A good example is RedRX7's unit, which you can see in the 3-rotor section and also in the kills section. He's got a very nice setup (although I like my wheel style better, but to each his own - he's still got a nice car). I think his numbers were ~630 rwhp at 13 psi. Ouch.

Wish you all luck at the next race. Again, planning on the June Mather meet. It will be my first autocross, so it should be amusing - an ok driver with a lot of car the first time out = spinouts and other hilarious cone thumping. Just need some results for Mazdacomp.

RedRX-7's FD is really nice. I have seen a few videos and a dyno sheet for it. I WISH I could have that FD!!!! Beast, I'll be looking forward to meeting you at the Mather AutoX.

To everyone else, good luck at the May AutoX!! Sorry that I can't make it. I think that Berry is still thinking about going. So whoever it was that wanted to see Jake get beat up on still has a chance to see that.

You know Bert has to back up his cousin. So does Nick for that matter. I almost forgot about that.

Hey Jake, is the FD going to be up and running for the AutoX?

Nick, did you look at those pictures of the 10th AE I posted up?
