The FD should/will be ready for the meet. I should be getting it back from the tranny shop tomorrow then i have to pull the dash and put in the dash harness and then modify one of the clips and wire it up and it should be good to go
Yeah that 10th is soooo clean. I like the stock popup lights more than that 4 bulb conversion, but thats just a small complaint. That car is niice. I wish it was here in cali. It makes everyone elses cars look lame :P
I'll be sure to post up the new pictures of it once the other body pieces get installed. He is flaring the fenders out by 30mm, doing side skirts, and a rear valance to match the front. That plus when those wheels get installed, it should look sick! That is the guy who taught me everything I know about 7's. He's also the guy that married Berry and I.

Huh?
Uh, he married you and he's also married to your wife?

Randy, good to hear that you picked up a WRX. Those cars are soooo much fun. What year is it?
Bob, if you send me a PM with your email address then I'll email you an invite to view the pictures from the AutoX. I posted them up in my Ofoto.com account. There are also pictures of the JGTC event in December, other NorCal 7 meets, and pictures from our wedding.

Now now Bert. WRX trannies can take hard launches. Remember my friend I have told you about who had the 425bhp WRX? He used to do drag launches at 5,000rpm. He would race at least twice a week and that went on for 4,000 miles. Never had one tranny problem. Just my experience though.

hey, i just realized that the meet is the weekend after my graduation. anybody who wants to see me get embarassed up the stage is welcome to come see, as long as it doesnt rain so it can be held at the quad. all that hard work and headaches may finally pay off, with a golden tassel! hahahahaha....
Dude, Randy, it's surprising your seven even runs. I thought you were looking for an FD, but I think the WRX is a better choice. I still think hard launching a WRX is a pretty bad idea unless everything is beefed up. But it probably also helps knowing how to drive one. Many of the people I know who blew their WRX transmissions can hardly drive.
So how much did you pick up the WRX for?
So how much did you pick up the WRX for?
umm 400 down....16k b4 taxes n stuff.....but yea i wus lookin for a fd....but most were private dealers...and my dad couldnt help me wit a loan....so i tried lookin for sum at a dealership....which were mostly in da bay area....so i couldnt really get time wit ma dad to go up dere....plus if we werent able to get approved, dats a whole lotta gas money wasted.....but da wrx is cool..its freakin fast as hell....but yea my 7 is a champ....it shuda died on me da first time i drifted in it....or maybe a couple miles after i bought it....but yea...its still running strong.....but not healthy...lol...hey ben?...still up to do a rebuild for me?...wut do i need to do?...hit me up.....randy
hey i gotta question for all u turbo guys out der.......on a turbo car....i.e. my wrx or a T2....i have read that a atmospheric bov causes ur car to run rich in between shifts.....due to the maf sensor reading the amount of air coming in, then gets vented out....which causes the ecu to run more fuel because it thinks its getting the air that just got vented out......whereas a recirculatory bov (stock), returns the vented air back to the intake so that the car doesnt run rich.....is this true for every turbo car?.....cuz why risk performance for a lil thing dat goes "pshhh".......o wait....o yea....it sounds cool.....lol....but i jus wanna no....if this 250-300 dollar bov causes me to run like crap....i dont wanna even get one....but i wanna no ur experiences wit aftermarket blow off valves...thx....randy

Well I got my car all wired up and put back together (under the hood anyways) Interior is still a mess. Tried to start the car and it won't fire, just cranks and cranks and cranks. I don't think it's flooded cuz it would have unflooded by now from how much it's been cranking. Does anyone have any ideas? i'm getting really discouraged by this whole thing so any help would be appreciated.

take out the spark plugs, hold the gas pedal all the way to the floor and crank for about 10 seconds. put about a spoonful of atf in each housing and put the plugs back in. crank the car and see if it starts.
this is what we do to most rx-8s that come to the shop for cranks no start symptom. usually for lost compression due to carbon buildup inside the housings.

sounds like a wirlwind of fun jan, thanks for the tip i'll be trying that tomorrow. ATF? automatic transmission fluid? YUCK! smelly stuff. anywho, another thing i thought of, but doubt it makes a difference is, the fact that the automatic transmission fluid lines are not plugged, they are open. This wouldn't cause anything to go wrong would it? I'm going to plug them when I jack up the car to put fluid in the Diff and when i pull the spark plugs. But damn, getting to the spark plugs in an FD is not fun.
Gotta do what ya gotta do I guess. thanks

yea, it sucks you gotta go underneath the car to get to the spark plugs on the newer rotaries. on the fb you can get to it from the top.
you still have the at fluid lines? does it go to an oil cooler? maybe you can hook up your mt so you can have an oil cooler for it? just a thought.
