Hmmm...maybe I should get the evo seats now then...before we auto cross. Gahh I just dunno if I'll have enough for the injectors and stuff then...
Here's the deal:
I have $600. I'm getting $200 on Sunday so I'll have $800. $500 for the evo seats so I'll have $300. Still need fmic ($300) and Injectors ($250) if i can find them that cheap :S Who thinks I should just get the evo seats now and hope to god I can work for the extra (lets say) $300 to be on the safe side...by june when I plan on modding it all.
-Oh and Ben you think my turbo will be up to the challenge of auto cross?

btw, i'm working on opening a rotary specialty shop in the near future, if you would like to see it happen bring your business to a local.
yea it is sad that some dealerships just don't try. i knew somebody who used to work at senator mazda and when it was time to schedule a class for the mazda training center, his manager just put it off and didnt want to send him saying he doesnt really need the training. i think he was just trying to save money coz the dealerships have to pay you to go to school as mandated by mazda.

Definitely come check it out, it's lots of fun. Even if you don't run you can ride along with someone during fun runs and that's a blast! If you are coming please copy and paste the Meet Info and Participant list and add your name to it. Thanks!

B.S. ferrari engine's are not the best ever made, NA rotary's are. hahaha Slow but reliable. I doubt a ferrari motor would make it to 200k miles or even 125k for that matter.

a ferrari would be nice but i would hate to have to maintain the ****, adjusting valves, having to pull half of the car apart to simply replace spark plugs or plug wires, yeah right!

with performace comes headaches...

you can pump out 500+ HP from a rotary and if it pops you can rebuild it in a day...

far as your electrical woes Jake, are you sure you have all the pins in the right position in the connector? the oil pressure is a good indicator that something isn't right in the harness somewhere, the only way the oil pressure would read full high is if it was attached to a ground circuit or grounding out somewhere, so if it is connected to a ground circuit somewhere in the harness by mistake it could give you the result as well as the speedo and other guages since they are electronic sensors/senders. first place i would look is the connector pins to be sure they are positioned correctly.

Yea but the other guys didn't have to modify any harness to make their gauges work all they did was plug them in and it worked. I'll be lookin at it again tomorrow, although i'm not sure there is much i can do, but i'll try and make some sense of it. Weird that my passenger door would loose power too Oh well it'll get sorted out sooner or later, and it's not like it matters since my speedo is going to be off anyways from the rear end being changed.

heh, welcome to the world of swaps... nothing ever goes as planned.

it'll get sorted out like you said, with a little time and patience. probably just some simple stuff like a loose connection or something.

about the ferrari engine they arent the best realiablity wise but its a ferrari. U cant compare a ferrari with an Rx7 rotary. Apples and oranges. As far as a rotary pulling 500 hp, its feasible but most ferrari's make that stock, anyways ferraris suck *** too i like Mclaren F1s

On a side note I didn't get lost once in San Fran Yet I can get lost in sac...haha. See you guys there. We need a bbq or small meet before that auto cross though! ...and my fender is still red. Sure is taking a hell of a long time to get the moldings in..
hey nick i wanted to get some info about that alt. if you can answer a few questions
1: how much was it
2: what else is needed with it (example) plugs or bolts etc.
3: when completely installed is it in the exact location
4: are they the same size like housing wise
5: do you know if my pully kit with fit and work with that
i really would like to get one, i looked into one that a company makes and it said high amp alt so i looked into it and it was a 70 amp hahahahha wow big jump rip off lol

check the top of the 2nd gen forum Nick, silverrotor on these forums sells FD alternator kits. they have dual belt pulleys so if your kit has a spot for dual belts then it should be fine- the second belt that used to run the smog pump runs the alternator as well to prevent water pump slipping.

i'm sure i can get some time to come over and give you a hand, i should be finishing up Bert's motor at that time so depending on what stage i'm at at the time will determine how busy i will be.

and comparing apples and oranges is the right comparison between a rotary and a V12 but a more comparable car would be a 787B, we are comparing a modded affordable street car to a 1/4 million $ car. i wouldn't mind a fully modded RX7 or a nice stock Ferrari, but my wallet could only handle one, i'm sure you can guess which that is.

Well i'm pretty sure i found out what was wrong with my gauges, there was a clip hiding behind the a/c ducting and ****, that needs to be slightly modified and plugged in dur. Couldn't ever see it cuz it was hiding so i decided to look real deap, stuck my hand up there and found it. Bad news is i will probly have to take the dash back off. but that's not that hard.
