Sorry she's not feeling well Nic. All our best wishes are with her.

Also, Eric, sorry. I'm not around often enough to hear anything, lol. Like Josh said, pass the pieces out...Make sure you don't forget the michelin man tire company(don't know why I chose them)

So, umm, with all this tech day stuff, I have yet to see where everyone is meeting. I know Im going out to stina's place saturday early afternoon to get my brakes done.

Anyone think I can do a header install and catback weld at deals gap??? Would be hilarious. I do plan on taking my welder in case someone busts something and needs to fix it up temporarily.

Heh, took care of the oil change this morning, although I learned the hard way that the big tubs of Mobile 1 that Advance sells is 4 quarts, instead of the 5 quart jugs I'm used to. The Miata uses 4.5. Oops.

I won't be at the meeting this Saturday, unfortunately. My store is having inventory, and there's no way in hell I can get out of it. It's the last day I work before my Deals Gap vacation though, so YIPPEE!

Nic, I hope Keri feels better soon. RRDI is pulling for her.

As for tech days...I'm doing my turbos at my house, and it's probably more than a day job, so for stuff like that I'd say it's done at the persons house (especially with Johny's engine too), the smaller stuff we could get together for ya know? I don't expect anyone to help me with mine, I just put it on the list for record purposes.

we don't have a specific place for tech days. i suppose we need to find volunteers, with houses. minor stuff we can do just about anywhere. major stuff, is where it gets more tricky.

for my bushing swap (which i just realized ray hasnt sent me about $500 worth of bushings) i will either be crashing Eric's house(cuz he loves me, hahaah), or Chris(redneckvtek) said one of his boys had access to the shop. might setup a little exchange of goods(food, ****, etc) for shop time kinda thing. haha.

i know everyone is anxious to get stuff in before deal's gap, but i think we are kinda at a fend for yourselves mode right now. at least with respect to WHERE to do the work.

You guys are more than welcome to come to my house to do the work, I have plenty of tools (regular tools that is, I don't have air tools and stuff like that but I have a few specialty kinda tools though too) and I have enough space to work on 4-6 cars at the same time (well, the FD will be in one of the spots). It's just not likely for most of you because I live so far away. Josh, you are more than welcome to crash at my place to do your bushings, it could take anywhere from 3 days to a week to do them though, just so you know. And that's taking into consideration we don't run into any major problems. It would be easier to use a lift, but we should be able to knock them out quickly enough even if just two of us are working on it. For Johny, we could take another long weekend to help him out.

Tech days is something that would be better spread out over a couple months, rather than trying to rush and get everything done before DGRR. For that, we should have started it several months ago already, in order for everyone to team up anyway. Like Josh said, doing it right before DG makes it a fend for yourself situation in order to get everything done. As soon as I get the car running again I'll be more than happy to help out though.

i am insulted! F U! haha jk.

honestly, other than the FD i can't think of another car I want right now. A C5 Z06, but that is basically what I am driving now. I must be getting old, new cars don't thrill me. Well not anything I can afford.

It's not you getting old, it's just there really hasn't been anything that has blown me away. I really dig the new Corvettes though. Much better than the older ones, except the Stingray ones.

I do, however, think the paddle shifting will be the way cars are going to go. Let's be honest, there have been times where shifting was a little cumbersome. Corners anyone? I'll guarantee that people can have better track times with paddle shifting. My worry, though, is that some people would think they are an F1 driver and would drive like that.

I think the X looks alot better than it has for the past several years, maybe ever actually. I like the STI better than all the Evos out now, as far as looks go. I'm still trying to decide what I want to get if I make Tech this year, I'm gonna trade in the Prelude on something. I'd like something that's AWD, if not RWD, but I'd also like it to be something I won't want to modify, which at this point had been narrowed down to Mazdaspeed6, but I heard the turbo system on those is a little jacked up. Other than that, I've been thinking RX-8.

OR, I do need a truck, so maybe I'll go that route, and get a bike for gas mileage purposes, haha.

if i get this promotion in the next couple of months. I might get a Porsche Cayman S, once I am done paying of the 7 (6 months). You can pick up a virtually new one for about 50K.

either that or i could get a house, or maybe one of those lexus is300(cheaper, more mature/responsible, kinda) Or maybe I will get a Honda Fit, and start socking money away.

Damn, Mr. Moneybags here, haha. I don't even have that kind of money to play around with. An older IS300 does sound pretty good though. And I had forgotten about the IS250s and 350s, damn. I gotta look into those again, haha.

Oh yeah, I got some Viton check valves on order too. For $15 shipped for all four I figure it couldn't hurt.

well this promo, would mean anywhere from about a 10-20K bump in pay. and if i lost my 7 payment ~$300. I could cough up the extra money for the porsche payment.

i probably won't. i am sure my common sense will get the better of me, since it would be about 600-700 a month payment. i was talking to my brother, and he mentioned maybe rebuilding a classic. that sounds as, or more appealing than the porsche.

i meant an is350, i forgot they changed badging. talk about a sweet ride.

HOLY ****!! 10-20K?? WOW. I wish I could get a raise like that, haha. With the next stripe I'm only looking at another ~$250 a month, but at least it's more. I would be more for rebuilding the classic or the 350 too. The only thing I like about the 250 over the 350 is the option of AWD, but they're all really nice. My buddy in GA has one, I think the 250. I was so

well i am probably exagerrating. most likely the raise will be in the 10-15K range(closer to 10 since I have only been here about 6 months, and am relatively underqualified).

the more i think about it, the more i think the porsche doesnt make sense. UNLESS i sell the 7, and that isnt going to happen.

I will have to look more into the differences, between the 250 and 350. I would like the AWD too. I haven done much research, just figured I wanted the bigger engine. haha.

come join corporate america I can probably get you a job here at Red Hat. wear whatever you want to work, grow your hair out like a hippie. huh huh?

Still, 10-15k is a huge jump, for me it would be anyway. I just built a 350 for about $41k, that might be a little out of my price range, haha. I wish they offered AWD for the 350, not like I can afford it anyway though, haha.

I have at least 9 more years before I'm joining ANY other organization. I like wearing a uniform to work cause I don't have to pick out my clothing every morning (that's if I like the uniform, and I guess I could just marry someone that has motherly instincts, haha), and I'll probably keep this haircut til the day I die. I would go crazy with longer hair, I cut my hair every weekend as it is, I love it down to the skin. As far as uniforms, we're getting new ones, but I wish we'd have just gone with what the Army wears...it would have saved us a ton of money in research and it's a more effective uniform. All they did to ours was add a couple pockets, change the material and design, and remove the patches...

Looks like I'm just gonna have to switch to the Army...infantry perhaps, eh Victor? lol

Dude, they won't let you build anything but a 350, I'm trying to price a 250 dammit.

damn dude, for 40K i will just jump to a porsche. hahaahahahaha. maybe they are both out of the question.

you could probably find a slightly used is350 for less than 35K. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ce=&cardist=37

i figured you would say that about the military. you are a lifer. talk to me after retirement. oh and you could wear a uniform here too, people walk around in socks in this bitch (which i think is ridiculous).

Well I'd like to price a 250 first. I was wondering about the excess weight from the AWD system though, how much it would add. Of course I wouldn't be looking to race it or anything so I guess it wouldn't really matter. Wait, they're not 2 door and they have cupholders?? FORGET IT! LOL That is a good deal on autotrader, damn.

Yeah, a lifer I be. I might just find you after retirement, you better be CEO and give me a pretty high position though, haha. So people walk around in only socks? Wow, that's ballsy. Get it? BALLSY!!! LOL OK, that was bad, sorry.
