Paul, look at your fingernails. If there isn't grease under there you need to get busy.
Mom commensing to do just that today. !! I keep my nails real short but they get plenty of dirt. Just got the last of my Mazda parts yesterday. Today I flush the radiator while it's still out of the car. Next I paint it.
That would be cool, I'll look it up. I know he did a lot of powder coating but I don't recall the cadmium thread.
BTW Robert, I'm not building a show car (though it very well may end up that way), I'm simply fulfilling my obligation to give the TW12A a good home and Make the LE Great Again.
Pics or it didn't happen. If you show me yours, I'll show you mine.
Parts on floor Rad out and back from dip, press check flow check Where it was. Have all new hoses, water pump, tstat and just got new tstat neck housing today. Soon to put it back together and flush system then put waterpump on afterwards. I forgot to flush before I took all this stuff off. Lol
good stuff Ray! Wire wheel it is. Clear coat great idea. Alternator is pretty ugly I admit. That'll be on my list. I like bling too. Anything that Pops. Your work is exemplary. Think I'll wire the EGI intake (epitrochoid) and clear coat it too.
Overkill. Here's what you need, $40, put a wire wheel on the right side
that one was mine. A precision perfectly balanced 1hp pedestal tool grinder made by South Bend. Ray I may be a newbie to wrenching my car but I've been a precision designer and builder of tool, dies, special machinery, saws, welders, end milling equipment, jigs, fixtures.. more than I can remember in 37 years. But I agree on your choice for a garage grinder... perfect! I'll have to use my dads old black and decker hand drill with a small wire wheel for now. Thanks for the heads up.!!
You're right ray. It's from the New York Times.. fascism at it's finest. I ate 8 years of quiet and respect for the presidency. I disagreed with policy and never slandered the president. Stow it now. You can't possibly know what fascism is to even utter those connections. A duly elected leader of the USA just like your boy. Let it ride if you can't stand the individual. Honor the office. You were doing well till you watched tv. If it bothers you that much don't watch tv. Put more time in with rotary gods.
By Golly you're right Paul, that car must belong to one of our Virtual OGTA's over in Germany.
James you're talking about polishing to a mirror finish, right? Interesting concept but a bear to maintain I'll bet.
I've just been getting them shiny with the wire wheel and coating with clear coat, simple soap and water maintenance.
But I'll give mother's M&A polish a try someday.
Wire wheel already nocked any anti corrosion elements off.
Its easier to maintain than you're thinking. Mothers has a coating in it that slows oxidation. I used to use it on my motorbikes, but have since gone to the lazy side and I use a buffer wheel and wax. With mother's you'll have to re-up every 3 months or so to keep it mirror. 6 months to a year of a little haze.
If you want it to last indefinitely use some high temp clear coat. I polish and paint my housings they stay nice and shiny, and they're easy to clean off.
I hate that I keep missing D&D. School schedule means it'll be as long as a year and a half before I can make one. The vert looks like a newcomer - who's in it?
