Old guys with 12As club meeting
Damn Tim, we've forgotten what you look like. When you getting out?
September 7, 2010 OGTA Report
Turns out it was a New Moon, not a Full Moon (my mistake, can’t read the calendar) so Billy was completely normal.
Here’s the 12A Count:
1 SA = 1.5 12A’s (Tim, down from North Carolina for the evening)
8 FB’s = 7 12A’s (New Guy Rich and his pretty gold FB, mint with about 50,000 miles on the clock (sorry, no pics of that beauty), Crit, Greg the Younger, Gene, Dean, Carlton’s Retro’d SE project, Mike, Ray)
5 FC’s = 3.25 12A’s (Kristy’s PrePro, Pete’s Turbo, Andy’s Vert, Fred’s Black Beauty and Alan’s Equally Black Beauty)
2 FD’s = 0.66 12A’s (Tray, who came down from the NC Mountains with his black FD without a hood and returned with a hood, and Phillip’s very pretty Green FD Machine)
3 FE’s = 0.375 12A’s (Holly, Billy and Kevin with new GF)
Total 12A’s = 13.785, a very eclectic group
Here’s the pics, but unfortunately my camera did not record about half the shots I took so there are some major gaps, like Rich’s beautiful Gold FB, Tim’s extraordinary SA, Dean’s Cool Black FB, Brett’s New Tornado Silver FC, Fred’s Black FC and Alan’s Very Pretty Black FC – if anybody got some shots of these cars please post!
The SA Group:
Tim’s SA

The FB Group:
Mike’s Blue FB

Carlton’s new FB project, a retrofied SE

Crit’s SE

Gene’s FB(SE)

I didn't keep track of the pistons for zero 12A count. But I know Ben, Juno and some crew showed up in pistons. Always good to see everyone, even if you do need to show up in pistons from time to time.
Kudos to the NC guys, Tim and Tray, for traveling so far for the meeting. This was Tray's 1st OGTA official meeting night (he did make the Crit's Lake House meet). You guys ROCK!
Nice to meet new additions and some of the old faces back out. Ray, glad you made it back out, we missed you.

It was a great meet. Good to catch up with folks and meet some newer members.
I wish I could have spent more time visiting. Got in around 1:30 a.m. this morning.
Sorry you couldn't make it Dave and Stu, I need to get in touch with you still.
Interesting tidbit, I got ~23.5 mpg on the trip down with the windows open.
I filled up at the BP by the meet and drove home with the windows closed but
I definitely got worse mileage. I can tell by the fuel level gauge (mine is accurate
since I fixed it). I should have seen the same or better mileage. It was cooler
out, my windows were closed and we cruised a fairly constant 80 mph.
I'm wondering if the BP gas has a lot of ethanol in it or something.

I just cannot get used to hearing/seeing this, "Billy's FE". I hope to have FE one day as a driver, but I just can't get over Billy in an FE. It just doesn't seem right.
Good to see and meet everyone last night. Sorry, I missed some of the early crowd.

Plus BP's oil is mixed with 100% pure Gulf Of Mexico. makes combustion difficult.
^^
Except that car is powered by a turbo 4-cyl
This was the last rotary powered car to run in the ALMS. Powered by a 20B.

Here's a 13B that looks like it could be a pretty good deal. It's in Texas but shipping is only $150.

Hmm, suddenly today my driver's side power window doesn't want to work anymore. Good news of course is that it is down, and there is actually a chance for rain today. Never had issues with that one before. But when I press the switch, the voltage gauge does dip. Thinking may not be the crappy switches as usual.
How hard is it to swap to manual windows?

I met Nascar great Mr. Buddy Baker today at my cousins repair shop. Very nice man, and on a cool note his wife drives a 95 twin turbo Supra. Just pulled it out of the storage barn for her to drive. Cobwebbs and all.
