Girlfriends are expensive Pete, especially the kind Brett hangs out with.

All us guys are better off with a good 7, less expensive, more fun and way more reliable.

Speaking of which, which one of you guys made off with the poster Brett gave me when you were out here helping with Chris' rebuild? I went out to the parts shed this evening to take a pic for this post and it's gone.

Billy don't you think you are taking this CAI thing a little too far? I mean, to sacrifice the elegant good looks of that beautiful RX-3 (which you shouldn't sell) for a little cold air is like, huh?

I mean it looks like a guy who just had a large iron rod driven through his head

I mean, study this photo for a moment. Aren't four eyes better than three?

Had fun last night, that was a good one! Seems like when the out of staters come in things happen.

Collin I'll take the clutch hose. You home tomorrow around 12:00 - 1:00?

They don't care to have it back, they're just sending me the right one and said to keep this one.

Obviously, I have an FC and cannot use it, and I'm pressed for cash.

So the big History test I told a few of you about last night wasn't too bad. I took it this morning and I'm like 85% sure I made an A. Happy day!

And after school, I went over to my uncles and cleaned up my other FC shell in hopes to sell it soon. I spend a good 3 hours on it, and found some cool goodies, too. I'll have pictures tomorrow...

Wanted: Early Radiator & oil cooler setup?

As much mad love as I have for Mazda, I look at that dumbass "beehive" oil cooler setup on the 83-85 12As and go "WTF were they thinking?!?!"

Would love to find an early oil cooler (y'know, the ones that mount in the actual AIR FLOW) and matching radiator setup to "downgrade" that beehive POS off my '85 motor before it goes into the '83 shell. Early radiators are easy to find (Hi, Ben!) but the oil coolers, not so much.

Anybody got an early oil cooler setup they're willing to part with? Have cash, will travel (within reason)!

And yes, I know this doesn't belong here but I thought I'd try local before posting on the SE classifieds area.

Thanks,
Troy

I believe that you can use the FC oil cooler as it is the same or close to it. I am heading to a rest home for old cars and there is a couple of FC's there if you would like me to snag one if they are still there. All the FB's there are beehive style.

Greg, you can have Colln's SS clutch line if I can have Troy's beehive.

Appreciate the offer Dave, and I may end up having to go that route. The intention is for the car to eventually be a Spec 7 or Pro 7 racer, so to be legal for those classes I need parts off an SA or FB, the FC parts won't be legal, though they may work just fine.

So I'm afraid it's thanks but no thanks at this point, if I can't find one in the next week or so I'll probably stick with the beehive and try again later.

Thanks,
Troy

Sorry guys, but our friendly neighborhood photography geek, Christopher Rowe, has already claimed the SS clutch line. Now, if you want to start a bidding war, I can get everyone on a conference call and let the games begin!

...lol...

For reasons completely unknown to myself I ordered four pilot bearings and only three seals. Figured you'd find that funny. It's okay though, because I have a few more small items to keep in stock for myself on the way from them and ordered an equal amount of both including one extra seal to balance myself out It must have been like 3am when I was ordering all my ****.

Crit, your bearing and seals are ready, btw. If I'm down that way for any reason I'll swing by work or the house to drop them with you... Or you can pick them up when you come take a gander at the FB transmission... Which.. by teh way.. has no vent, so it's a 12a unit.

OH! And to add to me academic pleasure while here at the glorious GSC campus, I have discovered that the drop dead gorgeous super awesome Brazilian girl that used to work for me at the Starbucks Licensed Store goes here too! We're always waving at each other and hugging... Man if I were straight, that'd be my girlfriend right there...

Now my current crisis for the moment is this: Do I eat the yellow or blue M&M last..?

Hey guys I am buying the clutch line this Sunday when I go up to Jefferson. Or at least when Collin called me that's what he said. I'm sorry Gregg, and Ray, you already have one.

A great man once pondered, "Oh why, oh why, didn't I pick the blue pill." I'd eat the blue one first.

IT rules let you do it. Does NASA have Spec7 here in the SE, how far do the rules differ from IT?

Now that I look at the spec again, it may be fine, it says :
1983 and later RX-7s may use the earlier oil coolers. Any oil cooler of the same dimensions as the stock cooler or smaller may be used.
Moot point though, as a stock FB cooler and mounts has turned up through another channel. Thanks again to Dave for the offer!
