Old guys with 12As club meeting
ATTENTION! On the way to school today my transmission mount hardware vibrated out of the car and the transmission and engine combo fell about 2 inches in the rear. All of the weight was put on the exhaust and it cracked the collector
. If anyone has transmission mounting hardware, I need it A.S.A.P. If it can be delivered to my school so I can put it in today, it would be ideal. I don't want to drive 35 miles on this setup. Please give me a call if it is possible. If not, bring it to the OGTA, I'll pay for it if I have to.

I think it was one bolt, and one washer that fell out. I haven't looked under the car (well I did, all I saw was the tranny mount fallen down on one side, and the whole engine/tranny is tilted down in the back) but if someone could give me a full set of hardware, I could bolt it back up and give them back the spares at the OGTA.
Chris, something I did not think about.. Is there an Autozone anywhere around school? If you can just take one of the bolts that you need out and have someone run you to Autzone to get replacements. However, if this for any reason is not an option and you need a rescue, you can always call me. I still have my ramps and all my tools in my car lol
I'll bring my bolt bucket Chris. If you can be more specific about the "transmission mounting parts" I can dig through and see if I have what you need more specifically. I'll also take a look in the FSM to see if I can figure it out.
Well now you guys are pissing me off, there are 17 pictures in that calendar (most taken by yours truly) and the only ones you guys have been impressed with are the ones Brett took (yes he took the cover picture and made the sign on the cover too). Is he paying you guys or something?
Printing commences in 1 hour, very last call for changes or additions.

If it is a stud and the nut fell off you can find the same nut under the front cross member where it bolts to the chassis.
If it is a bolt you can use one of the short engine to trans bolts to hold it up temporarily. given they are the same pitch.
In other words, bolt it up tight without the rubber bushings to get it home. it will be fine.

Ohhh... You couldn't have taken that one either.
Yeah buddy, no worries. This is about the only thread I look at on here anymore. The rest are crap!!
Depending on whether it is freezing rain/snowing tommorrow will decide if I head down. We'll see. 5 inches of snow is a blast to drive the FB in. All the 4x4's were in ditches and here comes the mighty FB slinging slush in their faces!! LSD owns all!!

Hope to see you tomorrow evening Dave! I should have your calendars ready, I worked out most of the printing details today (including Stu and Brett's birthdays) and should be ready to go into mass printing mode tomorrow. Hopefully I can get them all spiral bound before the meeting.
Speaking of which, should we shoot for 6:00 pm in order to get a little more sunlight?

It looks like a 75% chance I will make it. on that chance, Does anyone from the OGTA crew have a set or 1(drivers side) non-power mirrors for a FB. I have a 81'. I brushed up against my last remaining mirror the other day in the cold and it shattered
I have NO mirrors on the FB now. I feel uninformed of life outside the car when driving.

I may be there tomorrow night. One of my friends passed last week, and one of my friends isnt taking is very well. I am trying to watch over her through this. I may try to get her to come to the meet to take her mind off of it.
I need to get A LOT accomplished with school work before the meet. I also have to change the oil in the SA. Not too much to get accomplished, but I will just have to see how the day plays out.

I asked Rick Engman to come out tomorrow night, he said he will consider it and might have to drive something other than a rotary though.I like the pics Ray. You did most of the work taking pics every meeting and I think it is great of you to put a calendar together. Can't wait to get mine.
Its not looking for me to be there tomorrow. They changed the schedule on me at work without my knowledge. So, unless I can switch shifts with someone tomorrow, I wont be able to make it...shitty.
Ben and Juno came to the rescue today with the bolts needed to hold the transmission to the car. Then, the coolant hose underneath the beehive ruptured and the car nearly overheated until I saw the clouds of coolant bellowing out from under the engine bay. I bought some cheap hose to replace it but it was too small so for now it is just jammed on(quite aggressively) and tomorrow I will take Karl's 7 to the parts store and get the proper sized hose so I can still make it to the OGTA despite all of the problems.
Who wants to buy an FB tranny? No clue what it REALLY is..12a or 13b, dunno, just know it's out of an FB. How about a stock cute blue airbox thingy for a 12a? A somewhat damaged driver's side FB tail light?
I picked up a lot of stuff today...some is FB stuff, mostly FC stuff.. Not sure what all I can use/keep just yet as I haven't even begun to sort thru it. I quite literally stuffed the CR-V to the roof with parts...and even tied an FC cat-back (Stock, in GREAT shape!) to the roof rack.
Ray, did ya fix mah birthday? You do know it's the tenth of december right?
Also Ray, would you like to come over after the meet tomorrow night maybe and help me sort thru the FB vs. FC stuff?

Sorry to hear about your friend Donnie, hope folks are coming together and working it out.
Hang in there Chris, looks like you and the gang have it under control. One thing can lead to another, especially when it's cold, wet and very unpleasant to work on cars. I hope the White One (aka Sexy Pants II) settles back into her old reliable ways soon.
Gothcha covered Collin, you know I wouldn't make a mistake on the most important day of the year! Thanks for the offer on the parts, I'll take the "stock cute blue airbox thingy for a 12a" if it's in decent shape.
Dave, Zach, Donnie, Stu, hope you make it, this one looks like it might be another sleeper where 20 cars show up for an RX-7 meeting on a cold wintry night. Dave if you can get through all that North Carolina snow I guarantee it will end when you reach the Georgia state line.
Holly, thanks for the compliments on the photos! (I wasn't looking for recognition, already got too much of that, not all good. I was just harassing Mike).
I just watched the weather report, looks like we are in luck, as of 6:30 am this morning the rain is clearing out and it should be dry for this evening, although a bit on the chilly side.
Today I'm going to try to find a way to speed up the printing process, right now it's taking about an hour to print each calendar using all high quality photo paper and the "best" setting. But it looks like I need about 20 copies and I need to keep in mind the spiral binding for each calendar will be $2.00 and take an hour or two for the batch, so I need to get to Kinkos an hour before the meeting.

Alrighty Crit, you've claimed it. Yes I have the tools in the hatch of my fc.. However the gearbox is in the back of the cr-v. If classes let out early enough I may be able to run home and get it, if not how do you feel about following me home? I'll call you after 445 today and we can discuss details.
Ray, if yo want to swing by on your way home from the meet that'd be cool too.

I really can't follow you home tonight - got a sick, hacking, phlegmy wife at home. I do, however, work right down the street from the house, so anytime you're close would work. Otherwise I can come up when Dena's better.
See y'all tonight!

You home yet Dave? I tried to catch up with you headed down 85 towards the SC border but after a half hour of trying I gave up at the Jefferson exit. You must of had those Kia gears spinning. That 12A of yours is one fine car.
