Unemployment has its advantages.....I got to work on my car all day, fixed the wipers, swapped out the brake booster and master cylinder, and I fixed my door. Tomorrow if it dosent rain Im going to statr on the rearend and tranny swap. Question, is the flange on the 84-85 driveshaft the same as the flange on the 83 rearend? If anybody has a bushing kit for the rearend laying around LMK. BTW, Im bringing in more money now than when I was working! (PT cash job+unemployment check)

The axle flange is most likely the same as the pinion flange. There were a few small-bearing rear ends in 83, just as there were a few front-mount oil coolers, but they were early cars.

That's great news Kevin, things are better around the next corner, even if you don't think so.

From the Athens craigslist, this is probably a hoax but if any of you guys have some girls shoes lying around I might be able to get $20 a pair:

Kevin,

I did the same swap a few years ago. I think Crit is right about the flange. Check this site out. I think it has all the what fits with what information: http://mrmazda.no-ip.com/cfaqmenu.html#FCF

Also, grab the proportioning valve out of the 83. The brake bias will be different between a drum rearend and disk rearend.

Mountain Drive

We are up to 5 for the drive on the 21st. I could say 6, bescuase I know Crit will cancel his trip to Australia to go with us. But, I'll hold off on that.

Bret
Chris
Ray
Mike
iheartthewankle (who is this?)

Who else is interested?

Are all of us on the 985 side of Lake Lanier?

If so, we can modify Brett's route to start and end on the 985 side of the lake.

Hey guys, just wanted to check in real quick with you all for the short shifters. If anyone doesn't already know, I have a Group Buy going for custom made short throw shifters and there is only 2 spots left on the list to purchase. If anyone's interested, now's the time to sign up! PM me if you have any questions that weren't already answered in the thread. Here's the thread.

its actually the piece in between the headlights, the previous owner painted the car and didnt do a very good job. however, its not too bad for an amateur paint job, but the piece between the headlights has almost completly pealed off.

well, it pushed in my back bumper and cracked it as well as the paint. probably 5-600 worth of body work if i got it done. it will probably cost me around 60-70 for the bumper and the same for paint, so somewhere around 150 since i'm gonna be fixing it myself.
