I had a blast today. The old school meet was awesome, and afterwords Brett, Allen (Timewarp 89 GTU), and a friend of mine from SPSU went and did some monutain driving. It was amazingly fun. I'll post up pics when I can source out my mini USB to USB cable. Brett got some comical video of it though. Also to Collin, there is an autocross March 29th that I plan to run in, if you're not going to it, I need to find a way to borrow your camera, I really want interior vids.

It was awesome ... I could totally push my car more than I did on the mountain run OGTA had last March. Those shocks and springs rock And yeah Chris, you popped little flames twice on the way back down 400. Fun fun fun.

ok what are we talking about?

And to Brett, yeah I think yours was the best suited to handle the mountains, but every car had a strength of it's own. Geoffrys was the newest, so it had technology on its side, you had the springs, Allen has the RB swaybars and strut, and I have the LSD. I'm curious as to weather your car or my car would be faster in a drag race though, I need to find a strip just so I can throw out a 1/4 mile time when people ask, and to have a baseline comparison.

ok, i have a question concerning alternators. does anyone know if an SA model alternator (79-80) will fit a series 3 FB 84-85? i'm in really bad need of one and for some reason the re manufactured alternators for the 79-80 models are going for a fraction of the price of the 81-85 FB alternators. what is the difference? and will the 79-80 model alternator fit an 85 GSL?

i think the only difference is that the 79-80 is lower amperage output.

HotMaz, you might want to try to snag a used FB alternator on the parts section (put up a wanted to buy if there are any already posted). A used one could last forever, I've been driving FB's for 9 years and have never had an alternator go bad.

What a day yesterday for the OSJC meet! And even better for those lotuses headed for the mountains today. Wish I could be there, but the house has my weekends until I can get this thing refinanced. Chris, us homebound folks would love to see your pictures!

external and internal voltage regulators. You dont want a 79/80 one.
Pick up a used one. I use to have them growing on the shelf around here. At one point I thought that were kin to bunny rabbits.
I will look to see be 80% of my parts are still packed up.

That just made my day

I think Allen has the the same springs as I do (RB), and better shocks (KYB GR2< something adjustable I heard him talking about) . The next time I find sway bars cheap I'm deff. jumping onto them. I want those, strut bars, and my LSD to be in. Then I think my car will be good to go...

And yeah I thought about the 'who's faster' thing on the way there. We should've dragged after that truck I heard Commerce isn't very expensive. You could get some times in there.

Andd I loved yesterday so much, I'm going back up there with the girlfriend to have a picnic. Of course I can't drive like I did yesterday either...

Looks like OSJC was a lot of fun, there's some new cars there and some amazing rotaries:

Brett you know the answer to this, I'm way faster, in the mountains and on the strip. No point in even wasting the admissions to Commerce over this issue.

Yeah, I was stupid and actually went to autocross today. I didn't want to go, and I don't the the FB was really thrilled to be there. But, need to get the events in for Mazdaspeed.

Working sucked, the course was too spread out. Driving was actually fun though. I redlined 3rd in the slalom, so it was pretty fast.

2 issues with the car though. First was I lost my cooling fan. Had to be careful with temperatures. Low speed just wasn't working, high speed the fuse holder melted. That thing was poorly built. Wrong gauge wire for the size fuse they said it was for. I hate electrical stuff and even I knew that.

Second was my brakes. The fronts were locking way too early. Not sure what I can do about that. Maybe better pads in the rear (still haven't put the ones from Billy on).

1 down. 1 more to go.

Mhmm- I think I could take your little 12A, Ray I kid, I kid!

I rode back up where we drove yesterday with the girlfriend and had a picnic, and it was pretty fun. We pulled over to chill and a line of like 10 nice cars went by. There were some S2K's, G35's, Mini's, WRX's, and what not. I thought about trying to catch up with them, but I laughed at the thought

And I think I'll go ahead and buy 2 more rear tires, so they can go on with the camber adjuster in a week or 2.

Yeah, it's an awesome place. I'm glad Geoffry told me about the area, and I'm glad you and Allen came. We should hang out more and that was my first time hanging out with Geoffry outside of school, and he seems like a really cool guy, yesterday made for an awesome day to drive as well as a friendly bonding moment for all of us. I feel closer to you guys.

Wankle Wisperer Strikes Again

After a trip the rotary center of the universe (Jefferson, GA), the 7 fired up just fine this morning. I am not worthy, I am not worthy...

Now we need to make a mountain trip happen before it warms up and the crowds start going to the mountains. What was the plan that Dave offerred up awhile back? I am too lazy to look to for it. With my wifes health, I am only about 50/50 to be able to go. But, I want to try.

Who is up for a mountain drive?

Mike the vast depths of my technical knowledge of the inner workings of the Nikki are only exceded by the dazzling mechanical wizardary you used to reconnect your bimetallic spring to the choke lever without disasemmbling the unit. And did you tell them how I laid hands on you power antenna and got it working again?

A spring mountain run would be fun!
