Old guys with 12As club meeting
So I guess I'll let Collin post about his car when he gets a chance
I'll let it be a suprise. I rode up there after school and helped him play with the car for a while... Yep.
Thanks for the hood-prop clip, Crit. I felt pretty spiffy popping the prop into it...
And I've still been thinking about the whole 'vert and extra motor and my car and what not, and I'm thinking that I should pull the motor from the 'vert to save for parts and whatever else I might need later on down the road, and sell that car. And I can stash the 'verts motor in the GXL and have all my spare parts loaded into that car. And I can use the very, very small amout I'll probably end up getting for the 'vert to go towards an FB
I've been thinking how cool it would be to have another running RX7, and FB's are supposed to be cheap and reliable, right? But it's another one of my thoughts... it may or may not happen.

Brett you make it sound as if the car is running and driving now. Not.
I figured out the wiring today. My wiring is now correct. My starter is good. However, the main ground is not as it should be. The FC from the factory has a ground on the lower control arm mount on the driver side. Apparently, this is incorrect. It works, but I guess it's no longer working in my case. Crit suspects the car might have been finding some other way to ground well enough thru the automatic transmission setup...it's just speculation, but considering I didn't have starter or grounding problems before removing that damned hunk of **** it makes a lot of sense.
We got the starter to turn over at a fair speed (Not great, but good enough) after Brett got the bright idea to use jumper leads to ground from the negative battery terminal to the alternator. Kudos.
But the car still wouldn't start. I suspect I've got leaky injectors because the longer the car sits the harder it is to get it started. Also, the first start of the day always took a lot longer. It would just crank crank crank and eventually fire...after that FIRST start of the day though, it would fire NO problem at all. I let it sit for more than a week one time and I had to de-flood it like mad to get it to start...after that, it was fine until it sat overnight again.
So flooding was the first problem today, in all likelihood because this is the longest the car has sat without running since I've owned it.
Second problem was that when we roll started it, the makeshift ground wasn't in place. We got the car to run for a few seconds via roll starting...it ran like *** and sounded like it was breaking up (As if poorly grounded, go figure!).
So the current plan is for me to move the main ground (currently at the lower a-arm) to a more appropriate location on the starter. If that solves the problem, then great. If not, a new set of cables is in order and we'll see where I'm at if and when that time comes.
Right now I need a break from this project though. I've been so stressed about it in the past few days that I've begun to lose interest and fast...so a break should help with that.

Like I said, take a break
. Sort it out with a clear head. You have other transportation.
On a completely different subject, I can really get used to paying $17 to fill up the Lotus from the fuel light being on. Quite a difference from hitting the $100 cap on the truck.

Thanks
Like $52/ month for just barely enough to cover the other person I would hit if I were to get into an accident that was my fault... Why?
$19.50 to full up the FC from 1/4 tank. I'm totally with you...

. Remember paying like $5 to fill up my car in high school. Of course, back then, $5 was a decent bit of money. Still, quite refreshing after the summer.
