That was a good mini-meet today

4 RX's were there representing. REALLY wish I brought mine down.

 

yeah i wish i could have made it but my company did not leave until like 10 so by then i figured everyone probably had already left.

 

i was planning on going to the ice cream thing lol. but as i was on my way, i got a call from a very special friend whom i hadn't seen in forever and she was just on her way back up to canada from florida and they decided to stop and rest at Jonesville, so i had to go and talk to her .......... how often is that meet, i'll make plans for the next one.

hey guys i know i have not been at the meets lately but im going to end up missing this one too. I have to run to work and take care of some things, then this afternoon i need to work on the new toy. I dont have much time during the week so today is a perfect day to turn some wrenches. if you are out and about give me a buzz i will be here today working on the 80'

Pretty light turn out today. But still a good showing. Sammied, You took off to quickly without saying bye. I wold have given you a ride if you worked the camera. But everyone bailed out as the rain showed it's head quickly.Next time maybe.

Had fun last night to guys. We had a strong( 4dep) showing for te rotary crew. I was intimidated by a turbo civic climing 15 psi.. Iam suprised that no one actually tried to get him to run me.

Sorry I couldn't make it today, I have a brake job on the protege I was doing and got rained out on AGAIN

 

I thought you were painting today dave did you get a bit side tracted? yeah I appreciate everyone that showed up sat. night at the icecream shop. It is every saturday night from about 7:00pm til 12:00pm I get there about 8:30ish. yeah I was going to say something about that honda guy that wanted to race you, but i figured with gas prices as high as they are you probably didnt wanna waste any. if anyone has a GTU rear end posi or not, let me know i think that might be one mod i can afford to do and keep my little auto intact for the time being. I figure im pulling the engine in about 6 months or so for a "better" rep. so i'll swap trans then. but with my gearing that 4.33 gear would be just fine for me.

 

the meet was pretty cool, thanks guys, it was awesome seeing other sevens and meeting some of you. i'm gonna try and plan for the next one hopefully there will be more people there too.

 

I am working on the car today. Just figured I would post those before I forgot to. Lots of sludge everywhere in the engine. I don't think it ran for quite some time it would appear from all the rust in the water passages.

 

Just got back from Winston salem. Where you guys meet on sat. I could prob make that next sat. And will def make the next one in Aug.

 

Just got back from my first test drive in the FB since I put a budget exhaust and the new u-joints in the driveshaft.... NO vibration at all It doesn't have a damn thing on the FD for acceleration,,,Duh! But it is a whole different kind of fun. Hearinga carb again on something other than a bike is pretty,...well,. awsome!! i have a video, I just need to see how to load a movie from my digi camera.
Good fun. I should be driving the FB next meet!!

 

Dave, we need to get that intake on that FB. You bring me that carb and I will make a believer out of you! I will get pics up as soon as I can.

 

I plan on pulling the carb and intake tomorrow. I think I will freeze plug the intake coolant passages. As I can see that being a headache in the longrun for me. I will bring the carb over when i bring the tranny. I am going to soak the carb at work for a day. It doesn't like to take throttle at all without the choke before it is up to temp. I figure the slow speed jets or transition is clogged a bit from sitting. Maybe it just has a air leak. But it will soak regardless.

I think i will try to get to your place weds if that works for you. Thanks again for the intake. I look forward to the updates Now I gotta grab Stu's old Mazdaspeed exhaust from him.

 

We'll, I hate we didn't get to go out for a drive today, but I got the pics together. I appreciate everyone who came out today. I know we didn't have a big turnout today, but we had a good showing. 4 SAs, 1 FB, 2 Verts, and 3rd Gen

 

 

Sounds good Dave. I will break the carb down anyway and give it a good soaking before it gets put back together. BTW, the MazdaSpeed muffler of Stu's is sitting in my garage. IF you want it, just let Stu know and I can give him the money.

as for the photos I took last night at the ice cream bar, totally trashed and blured. Clear on the camera screen, blurry as crap on the computer. If they were clear, they would have been awesome shots. Guess thats why I cant wait to get my tripod for my b-day! Yay!
