Stu has soft lips

J/K buddy, I won't tell anyone else...

I just got back from a 320 mile round trip in the FB!! I believe with some new shoes and wheel bearings, It is ready for a trip to OGTA.. And our meets, Last thing to do is get a proper exhaust fitted up. The driveway where i went is a full on Rally stage man, Since I was there last the sand is 4 inches deeper!! And was FUN to rip thru with the FB!!

Almost got the customer car back here tonight.. I forgot to look at what Downpipe he is running last time I was there. The problem is that the aftermarket DP's usually require round headed bolts with a hex drive. I forgot to bring them..ARRGH!!! He also is missing a O2 sensor so I need that as well before I can drive it back here. Hoping to pick it up and bring it back this Sunday now, which means I may miss our meet. We'll see what happens.

Good news is the car started up on the first try after nearly 2 years now.. And it has a completely new engine set-up in it from before. I was happy, so was his wife. She texted him right away that it was running.( He is on his 4th tour in Iraq and Afghanistan)

So I take it the carb I built for you is doing okay? I hope we have a good turnout for the meet this time. Tim, I have a S4 tranny (thanks to Dave) waiting to go in the FB right now. If Andre's buddy who has the '90 can ever find the tittle, I will have a complete engine, trans, wiring harness, ecu, etc, to possibly transplant in the FB. I have seriously considered going NA for a while. I think it would be cool to go FI for a change

I figured that I would just put a stockport NA FI in there for "reliability" purposes. You know. I think having an RX7 with some performance is just silly I have to consider taking an evolutionary step forward for driveability This blowthrough carb stuff is just dinosaur

Okay. Enough with the sarcasm this morning. Do you guys seriously think that I would go backwards in horsepower? I still need to get the FB dynoed with the current setup. I figure that an RX8 with almost 200 rwhp getting reeled in like a Civic, I should be at least 225 to 250 rwhp (I hope). I would like to break into the 300 rwhp range next year. Should be doable with the 12A turbo. But would be easier with a 13B. Hmmmm, 6 port 13BP blowthrough sound right?

^^ the worst is about to happen!!! j/k, nah it sounds cool, i guess sometimes you really do need that reliability.

I went looked at one of my buddy's second gen. yesterday all it needs is a new tranny, the gears on his are all f'd up, it only has reverse, but i was surprised at the fact that it'd been sitting for a few months and it cranked on the first try....not used to that F.I thingy lol..anyways i should be spending the next couple of weeks tops on that just changing fluids and what not, hopefully we'll have another one out on the streets soon ......we should start a rotary cult

a 12a turbo motor limit is around 275 on stock ports with a very good tune the exhaust port is the problem it wont let enough air flow.. and a stock TII turbo starts to max out power at around 250

so you are going to need a mod TII turbo and you will need to open up the exhaust to get that 300 mark but if your going to do all that get a turbo that is is bigger and street port the whole motor with race exhaust port and make alot more power

my 2 cents but what do i know i keep blowing up transmissions

im going to try to make it tomorrow we will see

Oh, the 12A will be bridged if she stays in to try for the 300 mark. The S4 turbo I'm running has a ported wastegate, but it needs more. I have thought about a BNR upgrade. I think that I am being under estimated with the FB.......

yeah dj it was an awsome turnout. 1st gens kinda ruled the place today but we did have 3 2nds and a third. for those of you that didntmake it, I thought I would show how my wheel transfermation went:

before, nice but boring

and after, a little twist of old skool with a STI flare

the color is STI gold with a little corvette gold in it. it reminds me of the old BBS wheels from the late 70's to mid 80's. I was so happy how it turned out I was speachless. the guy who did it, does it for BMW and a few other shops around. he can fix cracks and bends as well. he can go stock or what ever color you would like. why replace your wheels if you can make them look like you want them to.

Dave next time you come you should bring the fd and fc so the 1st gens dont make everyone else look bad. It must be the reliability of carbs bringing in the numbers, Sam you might want to stay carbed or you might have to catch a ride with somebody LOL

good seeing everybody and seeing some new faces to me, also there is a 1st gen at the hardees if anyone knows who they are

i spent all day helping my brother swapping engines on his eclipse, and trying to get my car running i just gave up kinda pissed me off for some reason i can't get it started, and when it starts the revs kick way too high up (6/7k easily) so i have to shut it off or else it would blow up haha

btw, some pics of the meet would be awesome
