I77 & I40 Crossroads rotary meet
Cleaning the garage (jealous Sam?) and getting rid of the things I don't need.
Here is what is left, it makes me sad

And right after I cleaned it, I got it dirty again haha.

yeah i thought that they would be welded together lol
"no oil is bad" ... hope the front is good.. how where the plates?
no signs stating that were posted
. So both housing are junk. I might be able to use the front rotor, but the bearing is shot. So, I am still at least neading a good housing right now.
Sam: I have a spare 12A housing if you need it. It was off of my old SA (it tossed a rear apex). I seem to remember a bit of flaking, but I can check tonight and take some pics if you'd like.
Stu: If you want to fill up the garage again, I have a full set of irons from the '80 12A as well. Only bad thing about the SA irons is there isn't a place for the oil pressure sender, but you could drill/tap or add the sender elsewhere.
I know that I won't ever use the housing (since I have a 13B). The irons could be used if I wanted to build a 4-port 13B, but I don't see that happening anytime soon (if at all).

Well, looked at the 3 housings I had here. One is not worth is, it has about 1/2 way across the housing from 11 oclock to 3 oclock flaked off. This is the second one:

Being the perfectionist I am, here was the good housing that I know you would have used. It was out of spec by .6mm sooo... yeah.

Stu: I'll get you some pics. I'll bring them down the next time I am in the area. That would be a lot easier than trying to ship them. Hopefully I will be able to come to next month's meet. The 7 is currently on jack stands getting all new suspension, steering and brake goodies. Also an RB exhaust to boot.
You know I was in Winston-Salem helping Chris (cjf) the day before your last meet. If I had thought about the meet, I would have altered plans and dropped by. Oh, well.

Well, I think I have got enough stuff together to get this engine together. Thanks for the extra parts Stu! Check this thread. https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/apex-seal-go-bye-bye-755498/page5/

I got it down to the three rods for shifting, they are jammed real good. Forgive my technical terms, I am not the best with them, and this is my first transmission tear down.
Let me know when you want to come by and pick it up. I still have all the pieces for you.

I just got this crazy idea. I want a push button start. I want it hidden. I want it to start when I push...
The cigarette lighter in. I mean, I never use it anyways, and who would think to push that in when trying to steal the car?
So you really want to use the cig lighter as an ignition interlock. Just run the wire that triggers the starter thru it from the column and that way you have to push the lighter in to make a circuit complete for the starter. Just hide the wiring good so no one can see what was done.

No not yet. Been busy cleaning the garage, detailing cars, and buildin engines

Yup. Until you push it in nothing will happen with the starter. Just have to (OMG!) read the FSM and study the elect. schematics to figure out what wire to use coming off the ignition switch.
Just an update on the engine. Stu and I think we have come up with a nice "D" port for the exhaust. Stu talked me in to going a little higher than I originally planed, but it should compliment the intake porting very nice. I hope to have this thing back together by next week!
