I'm not really worried about it either way.. I was just pissed on by a puppy with a full bladder and the **** was under my ***** and getting into my crack so I was going home. I was going around that 90* curve and then I saw the vovlo.. I wasn't worried about his power or anything.. I sat behind him for a bit until it was clear on both lanes and after that turn it's straight and you can about see to the highway.. So I tried to pass. only problem was once I was getting beside him he wouldn't let me pass he sped up too. So I went into 3rd and finally he let me pass. and then I hit the brakes to stop at the road.. my brakes were old so they didn't work.. so I put it into second and rev matched the best I could and it was about 8500 and the rear wheels locked.. I stopped and he came around in front almost hitting the car infront of me.So I started to go some and he moved even more to block me.. Now I don't know about you but I'm not getting my assed kicked because I was pissed on by a dog and tried to hurry home. So I knew the other way out barely and turned around and left that way.. I figured the guys wasn't going to give much chase. they did for a bit then that was it.. This happened on June 30th at about 5-6pm. I came back in about 30-45 minutes after my shower. But yeah I doubt I changed or had time to worry about my radio. no matter. Tell that guy I am sorry.. I hope there is no hard feelings.
Haha, well I don't have a dog in the race nor do I care one way or another, I just thought it was a funny story that some of the guys would get a kick out of. Plus the rx7 guys should know that I "get told about" a lot of random stories about what "this rx7 driver did" so you best watch your asses...I know a LOT of people, and someone is always asking me "if I know the driver of XXX rx7 they saw the other day" etc.

The volvo driver in question did say that he wasn't going to whip your *** or anything, but he did want to say that you shouldnt be driving like a tool and passing on double yellow roads, especially with his family in the car.

The road/section in question is straight, yes, but visibility is limited enough by the rises and dips in the road that even I (a crazy bastard of a driver when I wanna be, and dont have my family with me) would be hesitant to try and pass on unless I was in a 300+rwhp car, much less a stock NA vert probably not making 100% of stock hp.

Well.. Yeah I know..

In other news the blindspots on this car make me not want to change lanes anymore. After checking both by turning around and mirrors I have still came over on two people.. I now resort to hanging my head out the window.

That story reminds me of what I might (note the word choice) have done when I was 16.

You must be having a bad day or something. Depending on the model, it could have far more performance than a 7, especially a vert. The S80 has around 310hp with the v8.

What would you drive if you had a family? He probably has a Corvette or something sitting at home.

He was speeding himself I was doing about 50 when I came up on him in 3rd.. I dropped to second to pass and got up beside him and I guess he's one of those ******** that don't let people pass because they think it's some sort of I don't know.. threat or something.. I honestly didn't know I was travelling as fast as I was until the buzzer went off. Then I was almost past him and wasn't sure if I should give up the pass since he was obviously not going to let me pass or try more.. I shifted and he let me I guess he saw that I was already infront basically.

And to everyone I know my car is slow I never said it was fast nor do I claim it to be fast. And I don't stop to talk to people yelling at me because I just got over roadrage. I now just leave and not pay any attention to them maybe even wave to **** them off.

ME PASSING HIM WAS NOT ABOUT PERFORMANCE AT ALL! I WAS GETTING HOME TO CHANGE CLOTHES AND WASH THE PUPPY **** OFF ME!

Anyway end of discussion. It was a while back.. I had practically forgotten about it. I think I may have damaged something on my car but it's my fault for passing someone who wouldn't let me. I think I'm allowed atleast one stupid thing a year. BTW the puppy who's **** was soaking into my ***** and the crack of my *** is now mostly house broke.

Damn, touchy touchy. You're awfully defensive about it. I just thought it'd be worth a laugh, especially given how the story circulated back to me and onto this forum. No need to get your panties in a wad, though.

Seems like it's alright for the 4 of you guys to bullshit endlessly about nothing in this thread, but you don't like for something else to be posted it seems and are in a hurry to put this aside and move "back to business".

ethanol contains less energy per volume so you were probably actually running a hair leaner than normal...so perhaps you needed to richen up your idle range to make up for it.

Oh no it's cool that you found out it wasn't no secret I told others about it.. I just didn't want everyone to think I was trying to race him or whatever you know.. I would have tried the same in my buick.. except I may have drove though a yard. I guess I do get defensive though.. Oh well.. So did the guy used to own an rx-7?

no, but we've known each other for a long time and he works on a lot of cars so he knows exactly what a car is when he sees one. And he knows that I work on 7s and know most everyone that has one running around here, so of course I got told about it.

I will say that it is **** like this that makes some of the older domestic guys frown on the import crowd...not so much the smaller underpowered (in general, compared to v8s) cars, but the young drivers that try to do too much with said cars.

hey kevin you don't know me but i just purchased a 93 fd from a guy on here in atlanta and wanted to know if u have a datalogic or whatever (i may can do it if all i need is a laptop) you need to save off the settings from my apexi power fc. steve kann did the tune and it runs great for everyday street driving and if i go messing with it i may loose the tune. plus if you have anytime i wanted you to give my car a look over and give me some knowledge of what the best route to go next is. thanks

yeah I understand. With the radiator in I'm getting about stock gas mileage now.. I'm still having this cold start issue though.. I think it's where the idle is turned all the way down and where the safc has everthing soo lean and I start the car in gear.

Starting the car in gear has nothing to do with it. But by cold start issue what do you mean?

The puppy wasn't in the car. It was at the party I was at. I was letting it sit in my lap and it went..

Well on a different subject:
You know it is getting bad when I am about to sell the 7 to get a new HUMMER for the improved mpg! Crazy world. Can't pass up the deal though and I don't make enough time to enjoy the FD much, so she will be up for sale in the next couple of months.

Wow, what's broken on the FD that it's getting THAT bad mileage?

Well I got an H3 and it gets about 20mpg. Never even sniffed that with the FD. Of course when I did drive her, I was not exactly letting the turbos rest much. Gotta burn that carbon out right?
