If any of you other late people (which seems like almost everyone) wanna meet up around 5:45 that's when I should be there... Circuit City in West Knoxville.

Well that was a fun meet, even if it was a little late/cold/windy/short. Glad you could make it out again Dan, haven't seen you since the last Dragon run. Is Lee on the forum?

Where's your fuel leaking from? We'll probably have our next meet in two weeks, so maybe you'll have it patched up before then. I hope it warms up by then
man you guys are funny...i should stop by here a little more often....
Lizard- yea my fuel leak is coming from somewhere underneath my carb? I'm running a Mikuni 44 right now, I just took it off and took it apart...yesterday couldnt find anything abnormal, so put it all back together and back on, but it still leaks....? wtf. it seems to only be when i either a.) take corners or b.) when i put the engine under load- itll idle fine all day long without any sort of leak but as soon as i start driving it i smell fuel and pull over and theres a *puddle* on top of my motor....

Perhaps the bowls are overflowing in it? Are you running a pressure regulator? It's never good to have puddles of fuel on top of a toasty motor... I wouldn't drive that thing.
believe you me: I'm not. I don't think the bowls are overflowing in it, I'm running a holley fuel pressure regulator, but it is used....don't know if that would compromise it's ability to work...the old fp gauge on it says i'm running at 3psi....I'll double check the float levels in it today, but I'm stumped- it just started doing this about a week ago....?
I've got a weber that I need to get jetted right and just need to run that one...f this mikuni.

wretched. so what youre saying is i cant drive the seven when its this cold outside? that would blow. I'm sure the cold affects it some, but I don't think it would make it spontaneously leak fuel...i would have to think it would be something mechanical with the carb, not just the weather.....

Try some RTV on those gaskets. It still shouldn't be dumping out fuel in the cold. 3 PSI is definitely within normal levels so it's probably not that. I'm thinking that it's overflowing at higher throttle and sloshing out when you turn maybe. Sure the float levels are right? Can't tell you much more since I'm no carb expert.
ha great minds think alike...thats actually what i just got back from doing...bought some rtv, and will be pulling the carb again probably tomorrow- the suns starting to sink, and the cars in the shadows...its cold enough in here with two space heaters going, so ill do it tomorrow pm after classes, and then let it sit the night and dry, then see what its lookin like after i get it back on and take it for a drive- ill also double check float levels...by no means am i a carb expert but i learn fast and have been messing around for a little while with it now...we'll see.
