first get a test light.. test the socket of the cig lighter for voltage.. if there is none, move to the back of the cig lighter and check for voltage at the wire..

So I start up my rx7(engine cold), oil pressure normal, everything normal, drive it for 20 minutes.. oil pressure gauge drops near zero.. sorta hovers around that range, idle drops rapidly... traveling through the city, stop at a red light.. idle 600 rpms, and 25% of the time its just barely running, my engine is barely running, and alot of the time it stalls. When you start is up again after it stalls the same problem happends.. its like the engine has no idle at all just stalls.. like the engine has no pressure :s. By the way Im pretty sure my stock oil pressure gauge only works half the time.. but I have ordered another one.
Iv read a forum about the idling, and one guy said there was a idle adjustment screw, well there is a unknown black peice of plasic overtop of it...

I have my car booked for a mechanic but it would be nice if I could fix the problem ahead of time

oil leak

I just had my oil plan replaced (my mechanic said it was oil was leaking from the back of the engine). Now it's leaking worse, coming from the front of the engine. What would it be? what could it be? (1989 RX7 non-turbo 5 speed). Thanx.

ok so i have a 90 S5 vert, she needs a rebuild coming up and im wondering how much it would cost to change it to a turbo instead of just having an non turbo.
a friend got a rebuild with transmission rebuild for $5,500. if i do the rebuild myself what will i need to make it a T2 turbo?

Hey... I tried to get this question answered before but still am having trouble finding the information that I need.

I bought a full exhaust and fuel cut defenser from racing beat but was ill advised and did not compensate for the extra boost by upgrading the fuel system. I understand that the increased boost leans out the mixture to dangerous levels. I don't drive the car hard all the time but I do get into it now and then. I have checked the compression which is fine, but I want to know if I have done any damage to the engine? Will I be ok if I start modifying the fuel system properly at this point? thanks for any help.

engine swap fuel starvation

I have a 1985 rx7 which originally had a carburated 12A motor which has been replaced with a carburated 13B motor. The replacement was done by a previous owner.
I'm having some problems with fuel starvation and wondering if the fuel pump and fuel filter should have been replaced at the same time. If so, is there any way, via a part number confirmation or identification, to know if this had already been done?
If not, I'd appreciate any advice you could give me for a solution.

thx,
mike

My question( and thanks in advance for the help) is about my fc. i got a s4 TII. theres a beeping noise I cant get rid of in my car. sounds like its coming from behind radio. Any idea on what this could be???

My other question is simple. I ordered and installed a jdm mushroom air filter. do you think this is a better application than the stock?? I left the one part that sucks the could air into the engine compartment but its only function is to direct the air towards the air filter. Shortly after i did this, acceleration gets jumpy between 5-8k rpms. I know i need new spark plugs but i dont know if thats the root of the prob. spark plugs should be here within a couple days. thanks for the help

I got a 86 S4 n/a with auto trans and Im going to supercharge it. Can i swap the ecu with a n332 or n333 turbo ecu ? If its the ecu will work, then I can get a turbo MAF and a turbo boost pressure sensor ? If I can not use the ecu, I was going to use an adjustable FPR and keep the boost low to see what adjustments are needed.

Will an 86 N/A transmission and clutch bolt up to a T2 S4 engine. Is there any kind of difference between and N/A Tranny and a T2 tranny? Or what kind of tranny would you recommend bolting up to an S4 T2 Engine. Is this engine worth it http://www.bestofjdm.com/JDM-ENGINE-.../jdmmazda3.htm
Or should I go with atkinsrotary.com or rotaryresurrection.com instead. I am asking because I am planning on doing a T2 swap into my 86 N/A.

Thanks

Omp

I'm having problems with my omp and the guy I just bought my car from said he messed up on putting the lines on. He said thats when the car stopped working I was wondering if the omp makes the motor gain compression on start up? Thanks

Hi, my tachometer is acting funny. just randomly dies and randomly comes back to life and works fine. Been like that for the last lil while.
I've looked up some sites and it seems to be related to the alternator? when i had it inspected before, the guy says I might need to replace the alternator in the near future. what do you think?

Thanks

When i am finished running the car i can hear a sizzling noise. i took a look and sure enough its something in my exhaust, it sounds like its boiling in there...do you know what this is, why its there, and how to go about fixing this problem?? thank you much in advance!

I have a friend who has a 1990 S5 GTU. It seems to have an overheating problem. When you start the car, use the car, let it idle, the choke lasts a long time. I live in San Diego, so temperature shouldn't really be an issue. Then, the temperature goes almost until the "H" on the temperature gauge, but on the line of the normal. The warning lights say add coolant, but we just filled the radiator and engine with coolant. Pressure stays in the cooling system even four hours after the car has been used. We replaced the water pump, thermostat, and radiator cap. Oh yeah, there used to be corrosion inside of the cooling system, since the previous owner only filled it with water and let it sit for half a year or so. What else could be the problem? Could the coolant system be clogged with corrosion, after recently flushing the system?
