i always use the stock return lines without any issues.
dont forget to upgrade your fuel pump as well as your fpr. the holley blue will not be enough for boost

my exhaust sleeve is busted, do I drill those pins (well the 1 pin thats left) out that hold the insert in? it doesn't look like you can use a punch and hit them through since there isnt a hole that goes through all the way.

I found that out the hard way the first time, remember? lol... my holley FPR is going bad now, so i'm just replacing it now with the 4309. I'm not preparing to go turbo until next spring.

12a T

Robert,

With the 12aT stock setup you did for me, would it be Beneficial to add an intercooler?
If so what size piping would should I run?
Can you reuse the stock BOV?
How much of a power gain could I expect by adding a IC?
Is there any other mods that will have to be done for this to work?

Thanks

I cant wait to get my car running again.

okay so your standing at the front of the car looking at the engine. on the left side of the engine that hose that goes down and underneath the car to a vent/intake port thing. wut is it? can you just eliminate the hose and just replace with a small aftermarket filter?

Hey Snub, if you intend on drag racing with drag radials, and don't have the cash to install a 9", at least put a piece of plate, (1/4" or so) across the back of the axle housing. We used cardboard to fashion a template. It will keep the housing from flexing so much. Pretty cheap insurance.

Question Secondary boost issue

Hello robert! anyone else who might be able to assist please chime in. Thank you!

Just recently my secondary stopped coming online. I dont hear any strange noises during a pull(rattles, hissing). I am trying to diagnose the problem and I am wondering what major components might be at fault? To my knowledge, everything looks to be in its correct place. I am simply wondering what (and how) to test. I know that the CRV is a big one, also the TCA. How exactly do I test these? Ill be going to the store for a vacuum pump with gauge soon.

Also I found the vacuum line running from the CRV to the LIM has collapsed? Like there is a major amount of vacuum causing the line to flatten itself. The line is brand new. Not sure of material though?

Thank you to anyone who can give me any advice! It all helps.

Robert.... so i found out what was wrong with the turbo FB all this time, i dont remember if i ever told you. the CAS wires were backwards to the ignition part of the megasquirt and thats why my base timing was changing.(Thanks for figuring out the problem Eric!) also in the FD when should i start worrying about the rear end? if i just swap in a TII rear diff is it a direct swap? and then when should i worry about that? or is there a good aftermarket solution?

Hyper4mance2k i didnt read all your posts to see your set up and everything but with my turbo FB i used the stock supply as the new return and i ran a new bigger supply line. i bought the aluminum line from either summit or jegs(cant remember) but that is a custom EFI megasquirt, turbo project running about 16lbs. so if you need to that is always an option.

Charlie

I have a 1973 12A bridge port with 1985 12A rotors, RB recommends 35 BTC leading & 15 BTC trailing at 6000 rpm for a 73 engine. Does the 1985 rotors change what the timing should be ? Also how can a make sure I have the correct counter weights ?
Thanks

Alternator question:
So my car has an underdrive pulley on the main pully and a dbl shieve on the alternator which I believe under drives it even more. It's an FD alt and it makes no power until about 1800 RPM. Is there any way to fix the issue?

Where can I get a 2 belt pulley that's smaller? The only ones I know of are the RB one, which I have, and the $20 Mitsubishi one, and I thought it was the same size as the RB pulley.

Alright looks like th stock pulley is 2.5" the Rb one is 3" and the mitsubishi one is 2.62" So I'll go with that one and see if that fixes it.

On another note I just picked up a Turbonetics 60-1 for an amazing price. My car has a S3 13B with a 48IDA on what i believe to eb a rotaryengineering intake manifold. Is ther any manifold that will just bolt up and clear the intake manifold. I didn't really want to turbo this car, but I keep getting good deals on parts.

I'm almost sure it would be a direct swap, there may be a few small things that are differant unless (just thinking while i type) you just swap the block and reuse all of the original stuff from the car and all should be good. I'm still almost sure its a direct swap, but if someone out there knows differant please chime in.
