i have swaped the block of a 86 and used the 91 intake port. i don't have everything back together, but i wanted to try it to see if it would crank up. it crunk up, but i am getting way to much idle, almost like you are holding the gas wide open. you have to cut the car off as soon as it starts up. what could my problem be?

Hi, sorry for this intrusion. I hope I can ask these questions, if not, please ignore me and I apologize.

I seem to have some sort of oil consumption problem. I found that there is a little oil in the air filter box between the primary inlet hole and the primary BOV outlet (above it on the left). Could this mean that the primary is leaking oil in the Y pipe and this is blown back into the intake filter box when shifting?
The car has no smoke during normal operations. When it starts, it does let go a bit of blue smoke for about 2 minutes. Only DP as a mod.

I also thought of changing to a different oil, but
Is it OK to use High Mileage oil as Castrol GTX High Mileage?
Is it also OK to mix this with regular Castrol GTX?

An untuned PowerFC was installed in my car when I bought it. The idle would jump between 300ish rpms to 2000rpms where it would eventually even out around 1200, then slowly drop down the 700-800 range. I got the FD tuned by Brian of bdcmotorsports.com. After the tune the idle will sit at 1500, then slowly drop to the 700-800 rpm range. He never tried to fix my idle :thumpsdown:. My set up is stock with the reliability mods. Do you think this is a tuning problem or a mechanical problem?

I am getting hesitation , I have narrowed it down to one possibilty . My rear catalytic is leaking I tried to put exhaust tape on it but it fell right off . Before the tape did fall off . I noticed a big diffrence in the way my car ran when I rev'd the engine the 5th/6th ports and were kickin in at higher rpms . It didnt do that before I had the tape on there . So is the bad cat the cause of my hesitation like its not getting enough back pressure to kick in there are several leaks in this cat and I am about to buy a new one .

I just wanna know if you guys think this will fix the problem ?

Here is what I have done the past 3 weeks to fix the Hes

New injectors , New TPS adjusted the TPS , made sure the MAF works , Changed out the boost sensor , regrounded the engine bay as well as the grounds at the ECU , made sure the 5th/6h ports were not clogged and the actuators work , set my idle speed to 750 rpm , I may be missing a few other things .

hello

I would like to know your oppinion,
I have a stock 6port, turbocharged.
Currently Im running 460's on the primary and 550's on the secondary, at 3 psi boost...NO intercooler, and 98 oct gas.(europe)
But I have 1000cc's coming in next week for secondary...
so the 550's will go to primary!
My question is, how much boost can I run with this combo. : 550's primary, 1000's secondary, NO intercooler, 98 octane gas.

Which turbo kit from HKS would be good for the FD TO4Z or the T51R KAI?????? I'm looking for something and just wanted to know what everyone else thinks or prefers and would it be better to go single or not?

if the gear that drives the cas is put on upside down (but still aligned correctly with key) will it screw up the timing? and how do you get the cas in the right position? line up notch in pulley...?

hi i was wondering if any none could help me out?
i have a 90 RX7 non turbo and i blew the oil lines. i was wondering if they are easy to replace and cheap?
Also i heard you could bypass them by using 2 stroke gas? is this true and what are the advantages / disadvantages?

ok i have a major problem my 86 rx-7 wont turn over at all by the starter but the starter is good and the fly wheel is new. when trying to start all i hear is the starter clicking agenst the flywheel. the motor will turn over by hand but thats the only way i need help i can fix just about any thing when it comes to cars but this is killing my mind for the past cupple of mounths

check the clutch saftey switch , its on top of the clutch pedal to make sure its functional, next check the voltage at the starter solinoid, alot of times there isnt enough voltage to engage the starter, remady includes running a wire from the ignition switch to the starter solinoid directly
also make sure your battery terminals are clean

20-50 is good for the rotarys and every 3,000 miles is a good time to change the oil..
if its a turbo rotary wich gets alot of abuse everey 1,500 miles dosnt hurt

those are both great turbos and i always reccoment getting rid of the garbage twin turbo setup, you will have nothing but positive results with a single over the twins

do you mean oil cooler lines or oil injection lines? do you mean 2 stroke pre mix oil?

94 FD Auto

Hi, first post here. This is a great forum, I"m a complete noob to rotarys, I bought this FD a month ago I'll be honest I didn't mind that it was auto because I have a bad back ( years of being a line mechanic). Belive it or not it goes like stink!!! its way quicker than I expected, 95% of the posts here relate to sticks, so are autos the red headed stepchilds.
For years I had buick GN's so I can't help messing with stuff, what are my limitations with this Auto?
I don't even know the boost yet, must get a gauge. If I can inrease it, whats the safe limit?
What oil do you recommend? Syn or Dino?
It looks like it needs a bigger ground strap.

1982 RX7 carb

I have rebuilt the original carb on my RX7. something did not go right. The choke cable has some slack in it that can not be taken out, and there is a spring on the back of the carb, that I can not remember where it connects to excactly. There is no garage in my area that still can work on one this old. Anyone have, or can take a pic of their carb, for the spring problem, and can tell me about the choke cable problem. I want to maintain an all original vehicle. I am the only owner of this one, only has 65,000 miles on her.

I have weber 48dcoe on my 2nd Gen right now 6port, will this be ok toooo put blow through? or 4port with low compression rotors be better? Just do to, no money I would rather just put blow through on my 6port with a stock turbo. ANd I have the stock timing set up, Will it be better to put the 1st gen Distributor with msd coils rather then have the stock 2nd gen set up? Thanks

woah man u seem to know a LOT abt rx7's aiite bro i got some questions...just bought a 96 rx7 type RB "limited edition"...its 54k driven im abt to dyno it to see how the cars performing how much should i expect?? and apart from that what basic mods would u suggest for starters AND PLEASE PLEASE gimme some advice one basic maintenence

6 port manifold

anyone know where I can find pics of a 6 port turbo manifold?
i'm trying to get some ideas together and I've searched for this manifold for a while now with no luck.
I know there are people out there that have done this so I was hoping a few would see this and may be able to help me.
I was just wanting some design ideas so I know where I can and can't go when I fab one up.
