By the way you could NOT bring down the engine any more. The oil pan will hit the steering rack.
As you can see in the pic the oil pan is level with the subframe.
I did lowered my subframe 3/4" with spacers. So far I haven't noticed any difference in handling what so ever.
Xcessive Front Frame Spacers for Mazda RX7 FC3S - Enjuku Racing Parts, LLC
There is a 2JZ-GTE swap part for lowering the subframe which is 1" Its well thought out and cheep enough.
I do however, want to go and make a subframe to chassis undercar X brace.
Hopefully now that I have finished up some job advancement tasks, I'll finally get to a
build sheet thread that'll answer any qusetions and kinda archive whats been done here.
Cheers,
Joe

as for the gearbox an adapter plate can be used and that is not an issue , the clutch flywheel combo is more complicated but not that difficult but someone will be helping me, i have a tuner shop where some of the work will be done , if my haltech ecu doesn't do the job i´ll change it for something that does , what i would like to do is to use what i already have but if it´s not possible i´ll have to spend more money to do what is necessary

actually i saw that video and i kinda remember it
the turbo 2 rear end is not that weak and i´m not planning on doing drag racing and my research and some emails i exchanged with a couple of guys that used the turbo 2 rear end with the granny´s speed swap kit and also the granny´s website talk about 500 hp with no problem , i really appreciate the help and the info that you guys are supplying because i really don´t have much knowledge on these swaps unless i pay a shop to do all the work

I'd say, from Portugal, and your English is that good? That's amazing! There's no chance he's a 15yr old with vocabulary, punctuation and grammar all spot on in ESL.
Nevertheless, my build is held up by water lines. Hopefully they will come in soon.
30mpg, the ratios are:
FORD...1st=4.17...2nd=2.34...3rd=1.52...4th=1.14.. .5th=0.86...6th=0.69
MAZDA.1st=3.48...2nd=2.15...3rd=1.39...4th=1.00... 5th=0.76...............
So, if you compair to the FC trans it covers a wider range.
Once I change the rear to the 8.8, I'll go to a 3.30 or so rear gear.
also to answer another question, yes, I do have manual shift mode.
Back to Cristiano, my recommendation is to swap your vehicle with a engine that has better support.
For example the Roninspeedworks.com FC to LS swap. This IS you best bet.
As far as I know, there is only one successful 3.7 swap. And I had lots of help.
By the way has anyone seen my hood???
and you still want to swap???
Its a monster! And your ok with that???
Let me know for real
.

the oil pan will probably cause me some problems, but if necessary i´ll modify it to lower the engine has much as possible.
i saw your hood and i still want to swap but the intake is just to big and tall so i figured that another intake will have to be made ,custom in a shop

the 3.7 is used in a couple of english cars , the radical and the Gineta, in the Gineta it uses a getrag trans so that´s an option check it out
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ginetta_G60

rear diffs with clutch drops at 8500rpm on Mickey Thompson slicks. Never broke one.
But that was only 330whp. My plan for the car is purely street car. I will go test it at the track.
Otherwise I just drive normal and like cool cars. This 3.7 should easily make 550whp.
So, we'll see how it goes. With my tires, most likely it'll spin before it brakes, but some tracks are sticky.

550 whp that sounds awesome, i would be happy with 450 whp but i'm afraid that the gearbox won't be able to handle it , the best thing i believe is to get a six speed ford box but i have no idea of the dimensions and the placement of the shifter
#135
i´m planning on changing the pistons for reliability but i´ll be staying in the 400 to 450 whp because i think on the road it´s more than enough , at least for me is more than enough and we don´t use e85 over here ,we don´t have it,

Back in the saddle again!
She's running and running good. Justin did some calibration yesterday. We got to WOT for a
quick second. She squatted so bad it compressed my rear struts all the way and rubbed the
tires real bad but no damage, cuts or slices. It did however, shine up certain areas and show
where I need to address.
Still needs to be tuned but its finally ready he said. I would like to make a lower radiator hose
from aluminum piping. I already had that pipe pop off and I don't trust it as it's my weak link.
Other then that, I'll be starting a new thread soon documenting the entire build. I'll link it here.
I would like to keep this thread alive as it's been great for topic of discussion.

Well, had some real weather come through and rip down a fence. So, I spent the last few days building that.
Other then that I've been dealing with a brake bleeding issue. I got it better, but... ...not content
with the feel and confidence.
Should dyno later this week!
