Started it up and finally drove it. The factory computer works. The 6R80 even shifts through the 6 gears and back.
I still need to plumb in the wastegate. So, I didn't get on it.

Thanks bud.
I'm not planing on racing it but once I get the brakes upgraded and suspension dialed in, I'll
want to know what it's stats are. The car has A/C, music and everything I need in a street car.
I definitely want to know quarter mile times with a primary focus on trap speeds.

So a quick update. I will be either getting my motor and tranny on Friday or just the motor. Both are $670 with tax or just the motor for $426 with tax. Money may become a little tighter next week.

Get your trans too if you can.
Got her home for the holidays, but still plenty to finish.

Haha, Go to the Asian store and buy WAI WAI TomYum or MAMA TomYum soups.
The are way better and are full of flavor. You'll be surprised how satisfying of a meal it is.

I don't think it's cheaper than Walmart cup noodles

By the way this was with no exhaust connected after the downpipe!
Now the exhaust is finished as seen in the above pic in post #66.
It's super quiet. Besides a very deep and low base the engine is more quiet then my wife's Toyota
v6 Venza.
However my car does have an aggressive growl on start-up while the cams are doing their thing.
The shifting is rapid and in 6th gear in probably a few hundred feet. "kinda" like a DCT.
I just gotta get the sequential shifter signal right. That's next.

Ahhh very nice!

I'll be interested to see your install options on that intake. It might save a ton of headroom
toward the front of the engine bay.

I'm picking up the mt82 this next weekend for $174+core+tax. I found a sourcein Ohio for a flywheel clutch disc and pressure plate for $150+shipping. Unfortunately the right side valve cover is broken but I found a source for $50. The inside looks great, no residue(besides oil). I'm also missing the right side exhaust manifold but it's a fwd motor so I'll have to source a mustang/f150 manifold.
New: took the busted valve cover off to check out the cams.Ford 3.7L V6 fc-tj3z8j8.jpgFord 3.7L V6 fc-dmgijtk.jpg

Bought a 2012 mt82 W/64k mi a couple weeks ago for $186 W/tax. The bolt holes all match except for two on the oil pan. The pan looks like a pair of ugly **** so I might have to source a stang/f150 pan. Got an end of the year bonus this week so I'll check my bills and if possible pickup a new valve cover and front+rear main seals.Ford 3.7L V6 fc-ylkyyqx.jpg
