Thanks for the link Clayton, those clamps are tight! Here are some different pics of the heat shielding that I'm considering.

Just purchased the sake bomb garage stainless brake lines, I haven't been able to match schedules with Gary to get anything done on the car this year. I have all kinds of parts laying around the house, just itching to be installed. Last time I talked to Gary was last month, he was ordering materials for the manifold and exhaust.

Time to make some progress. You don't want it to become a Jimlab type project (though it would take a few years for that).

Sorry that I've been gone for so long fellows, I worked on the car yesterday and finished the welding on the vertical hinges. My next move is to aquire all the parts needed to do a manual transmission swap. My old computer went out and I'm using a cheap netbook at the moment, so pics will take awhile. If you guys have or know someone selling any parts to do the conversion feel free to PM me.

Thanks for hanging in there fellows, car is coming home soon. I've got a lot of work ahead of me but I'm still excited to keep building this project. I'll have to get a better computer so I can post pics again.

Contacted A-spec for fabrication of the turbo manifold, and I found the website for the custom heat shields pictured above- Turblown is their company's name. Might look into getting my Feed hood lined with their heat shielding as well. If all goes planned,I should be striping the engine bay and repainting it in smokey granite mica this winter. I plan on relocating most of the wiring and electrical components away from the engine bay for protection from the heat and to present a clean look. Since I've relocated the battery into the passenger's storage bin, I figure I'll locate the rest of the electrical into the other bin behind my seat.

Well, turbos and v-band flanges shipped to A-spec tuning. Should be in their hands today. Also having them build the two downpipes and wastegate runners off the two TiAL mv-r s. I picked up a Cosmo 13b re manifold setup, and I'm looking at going with the billet alum throttle body from Rotary-works. Some custom fabrication will be in order for attaching to my Groundzero lim. Considering making an adapter plate to mate the lim to the uim. I'm also leaning at the idea of having the engine bay parts chrome plated in black chrome. Maybe have some regular chrome plated parts for contrast as well.

Picked up a new set of CJMotorsports.com fuel rails with an Aeromotive regulator. these are going to replace my mismatched KGParts.com primary and Groundzero secondary rails. The new parts are one off custom annodized HKS purple to match the wiggins clamps. Sean at Aspectuning.com is constructing the turbo manifold and downpiping currently, I'm hoping he'll post some progress pictures in this thread. I've been thinking about what route to pursue regarding the transmission, I think I'm going to stick with my original plan and upgrade the auto transmission with Levelten.com parts. I'm going to set it up with paddle shifters and use their controller computer.

For those not familiar with paddle shifting here's a great link for the Works Bell universal kit.
http://www.tunersgroup.com/Online_St...Universal.html

I haven't chosen a kit yet but there seems to be quite a few available. Looks like I might go with the works bell setup at this point. Their quick release hubs look great too. I don't know if I can make the paddle shifter work with my KYB quick release setup. Another thing that's sparked my interest is the Defi Super Sports Cluster or DSSC for short. It puts a lot of information right behind the steering wheel, has a turbo version with a boost guage and 11k tach. Never was released from Japan but not impossible to obtain. I'm either make a plate to mount it over the current stock gauges, since it replaces everything. Or fiberglass it into a new dash piece and try to match the silver carbon fiber patterns back up. I'm hoping my man Omar @ Dragon Motorsports can hook me up...

Here's a couple of links showing a couple of FD's with different mounting of the Defi DSSC.

With all the sensors to monitor everything+the DSSC+installation cost= looking at a lot of $$$$
