I've been considering purchasing a carbon fiber hatch, but most people I've talked to haven't been that impressed with the fitment or quality from the few manufacturers out there. Another thought of mine is to just send my hatch out to be wrapped in twin weave c.f. I'll probebly send it and my other parts that I want to have redone to www.rau-autowood.com
I'm not worried about shaving any weight, so everything will be going back on it. Since I went with the Feed adj. spoiler from the stock one I'll need to fill in the two inner mounting holes. Also having the paint and carbon fiber being a close match won't distract the lines of the car.

nice looks extremely similar to mine... full feed + old style feed wing and re-a sleeks (mine are the old style sleeks w/o light holes). make sure you lamin-x the fog covers on the 2 R front as they're not very rock resistant. great build thread!

I'll have to check that one out, I didn't know that they made one. Feed has a carbon hatch but it's dry carbon and wouldn't go with the wet look that I've got going on. I've also heard that the stock shocks will damage the aftermarket carbon fiber hatches. I'll weigh out the prices of having mine wrapped vs. what is available.

Hey I have Seibon hatch and the fit is perfect. I also have the FAL glass.

That's a nice hatch JEROME, do you have your interior plastics mounted to it? Curious to see if everything attaches. Post some pics with the Fal window mounted when you get around to it. Any issues with the shocks also?

Thanks Omar, send me your prices for the hatch and Bride seats with rails.

evot23 sent you a pm, let me know if you got it.

Looking good, do you have any pics of your carbon fiber overlaying? The Bride's are the stradia with the graduation fabric option. I'll have to double check on the appropriate rails, but I think they're the RO type.

Here's some more pics of the new bumper showing it's mounting points for those of you who are curious. Don't worry I'll have pics with it mounted later.

All the hardware to mount it was included. The center rotor shaped grill and it's frame are removable by loosening three nuts. There's a nice amount of rigidity to the bumper, seems well constructed.

Here's an inner view of the light assy. The bumper mounts to the bracketed area where the stock lights were. The pods are fastened with tabs in slots and bolts/ nuts. The diffuser helps to secure it to the car underneath as well.

There is even a bracket for attaching the license plate lighting. I'll need some really cool leds for it. The distance from where it touches the hatch top-center to the rear edge is 8 inches. The next lower lip (above the license plate) sticks out further, lengthening the car. I also thought about blending in the stock lights but realized it would be too much work.

These guys have some interesting bulbs. Here's my RE Speed oil filler neck and Mazdaspeed rotor cap. Bye bye plastic engine bay parts.

Be sure to epoxy the back side of those riv-nuts. They have a tendency to spin, especially when installed on fiberglass parks.

Also, interested in a catch tank? PM if you are.

Hi Matt, where did you purchase the GT Factory vertical door hinges and how much did they cost (you can PM this info to me)? Any new info on your build?

I paid $900 for the hinges thru ChaserAerokits. They may have come down in price, I think I saw them for around $600. I'm still waiting for my builder to make a turbo manifold. I just got laid off from the elevator trade due to the slow economy. I've got lots of free time, I just cleared out my garage to bring the car home. Maybe by next week I'll be able to get some time into it. My builder was working on the car this weekend, I'll be out there soon to check on the progress. I'll keep you guys updated.

Here's what I'm working towards, minus the 20B. Purple and polished aluminum.
With twins even, must have been reading this build thread! LOL
I'm going to try this heat shielding on everything when the time comes and I'm considering a new direction in my inter-cooler setup by using these i/c tubes from Lindsey Racing. I'll be looking to run a separate cooler and electric water pump to cool the i/c pipes. With less cubic inches then my v-mount, my boost response should be improved. Silicone couplers aren't my first choice, so I'll be looking for a way to use the Wiggins flex connectors with these. Anyone want to hire me, I need a job!

Sorry to hear about the job status

I must say you're going ***** to the wall on this build, it's something I would attempt if I won the lottery

Update, after being unemployed due to the poor economy for over a month, I asked for my old job back and I've been working there for three weeks now. The build has been on hold and nothing new to report at this time, once the finances are back on track I'll be at it again. Stay tuned...

It was nice meeting you tonight at the Izzy's meet. Here is some of the info that we had talked about. Once I find out the thermal shielding I'll let you know the costs.
