It had low compression so I took it out and had it rebuilt.

I have to believe then that the bearing is somehow not being installed or seated properly? I'll see if I can find out excatly how that should be installed. I will look through my FSM too. I have never had those issues with mine and I never was very carefull about the angle of the input shaft when installing my trans. So for yours to be giving such a hard time doesn't seem right. I'll let you know what I can find.

Mibad, No spring in sight.. You got to get some mudslingers so you can enjoy all the wet cold weather.

I agree Dave - I must be ******* something up. I checked the clutch section and it says on page H-19 that the bearing should be seated .453-.482" as an insertion depth. So I'm guessing that means the end of the bearing should be that far into the e-shaft? If so mine is definitely not in that far. What's your take on that?

Well I would just make ceratin you have the bearing installed to the proper depth this time before attempting to re-install the trans. Once you have the bearing in correctly it should be a breeze. I would have had it in for you if that bearing was not done wrong. I would not waste you time waiting on ricky to help you. Once you get the bearing in your other buddy Ryan could definitely get the trans up in there for you.

Well I can see why you would want to come back. Did you guys not price it out in advance? Not that it's any of my business.

well i had but i had also expected to keep with engineering. Now im thinking that engineering for me is more along the lines of an automotive hobby. Clemson is a great school for both majors but in MD i couldnt really find an engineering program that i liked.

Beyond that the general way of life down here is diffrent than im used to and i really prefer the way people are up north to this part of the south.

I'd like to go a little farther south, like St. Croix.
I wanted to be an engineer, but I think my family is missing the all important math gene. I made it through calc 1 and said "maybe I'll do computers!"
You'll be saving your parents a boatload of cash by going to MD. Maybe they'll let you spend some of it on the 7. ; )
