I've had the car for a year and a half. I bought it from a lady I worked with. She bought it new in 93. The engine blew at 69,995 miles. It sat in her garage for 5 years. I've put 4000 miles on the new engine since then. I usually only drive it on weekends. My daily driver is a 2001 white eclipse convertible with a black top. It's a nice summer cruising car, but compared to the 7 it's a land yacht. The only upgrades done on the 7 are intake, exhaust, and ACT clutch.
I haven't met the people that live by the hardware store yet, but I'm sure I will.
There may be 2 black FD's in Lusby. There is suppose to be one in the neighborhood across from Drum Point(where I live). I'm going to cruise over there soon and check it out.

yea if you ever go for a cruise hit me up.. ill shoot you my # in a pm.. im still finishing up my car and i still need to do some street tuning im looking for 250 on low boost and 325 on high .. i might sell the 240 for a vert fc this winter.. i fell in love w/ the red one that the chick drives around down here .. i think a vert w/ uras type 4 kit would be sex on wheels.. i would probably have enough to do a t2 swap aswell.. i need to look into local ppl who can work on rotaries tho.. i can rebuild my ka24 no problem but im blind as far as rotaries go.. im researching alot right now but .. does anyone in southern maryland rebuild out of there garages or anything ..

If you want to go fast it's way cheaper and easier to get a fd than to try and convert a vert to a turbo II.
There are no rotary specific shops in SOMD.

Yeah, if you want to go fast, you are better off going with a nicely taken care of T2 or an FD. Doing an actual turbo swap is alot of work. You are going to spend at the very least 8k on the swap if you want to do it smart. Meaning rebuild on junkyard J-spec motor.
A vert with a turbo swap sounds very appealing, but think about it this way. You are taking it from an N/A to turbo. Something that NEVER belonged in the car, so therefore you have to change EVERYTHING out.
Dave- I gotta stop by sometime and have a beer and see how everything is going. And I saw a Schoenbuaer van the other day at the St.Charles Mall. Was that you?

yea i know the pain.. i have a ka-t .. i would probably be happy for now just having a clean vert maybe suspension and wheels power is nice and all but reliability goes to shizzit.. like w/ all cars.. idk..

A reliable stock 3rd gen is most likley faster than 85% of the cars you would run into on the street. WTF is a ka-t?
ka-t is a turbo ka24de from the 240 .. i finally got it on the road today just doing some fine tuning and hating live cuz i have an exhaust leak on a 70a/r t3/t4 and it doesnt start spooling till 4 grand and it wont build boost.. but other than that its drivable.. not raceable
hey dave have you had any problems with your rear end? A buddy of mine down here just blew his and we we gussing his hp at around 400 but its never been dynoed.... I think he's gonna go with the fc diff next time to try and avoid this.

No I have never had a problem with my diff and I've been pretty rough on it. I've never had much of wheel hop though. Maybe his did?

Everyone brace yourselves!!!!
I GET MY **** BACK THIS WEEK......
I know we've heard this before, BUTTTT it is actually done and togeather. Took a long time, some my fault cause Im a difficult bitch!
I wanted to do crazy **** to my motor. In the end it'll prolly blow to high hell just as easy, but what the hell, right?!
In case any of you are interested, my PPG tranny DID NOT come with an upgraded output shaft. So after me have a meltdown, they agreed to start producing them with mine being the first. Good news is you guys can actually put this upgraded main shaft in your stock tranny and not have to worry about breaking it. And this is the main thing that breaks in out tranny's after putting some serious power and abuse (9K launches) to it. I'll post the pricing and where to buy it once mine is in with no issues. I will say this tranny is sick and can't wait till spring.
