A wise man (my dad) once said, "Son, you can't out run their radio."
Not that I ever listened to him.

And I am down in VA Beach now, been here since thursday evening. Very nice place, and I will probably move down here in a few months.
I asked about the police.
"they" say its on private property and they don't bother anyone.
Do I know if its absolutely true?? No.
200+ cars and hundreds of people. you got good odds you won't
get caught.

Mibad, im no young lad, either. But its fun/exciting to be in the mix
and watching all the goings on. Plus if your not racing and just
spectating, as long as your legit. What could they ticket you for??

How are they going to get your plate when your doing 100+. I'm sorry I'm not trying to condone any illegal behavior but I have friends that are Charles County Cops. I know what a squad car will do. My rx7 has plenty of advantage over a squad car. Add to the equasion all you need is a decent lead so you can burry in some traffic, kill the lights and dodge off onto a side road. Case closed. Besides with as rare as Fd's are, how do you think that they could identify a dark one at night that they only get a glimpse of? Much less get close enough for my tag number. If they get that close you have to pull over anyway. No one wants a fleeing and eluding charge.
If you don't know how to avoid cops then you got no business driving a sports car over the speed limit. As far as radio is concerned, see above. I'll be well out of sight and slowed down to blend with traffic long before the radio tag team comes into play.
This is one reason I did not doll my car up with "come pull me over" body modifications.

Dave's right, it's easy to get away especially if the cop is at a standstill or trap when you roll through. It's the same thing with bikes, you have to be an idiot to stop for a cop when it's so easy to *poof* and be gone...

Well I heard that they did get busted like two years ago but no one got ticked. And they can always put that bullshit ticket on you for "Participating in a Street Race"

I've seen a news program where they busted one of these big street racing hot spots before. If they're serious about doing a bust, they will surround the stretch of highway and block all exits with squad cars. 1 guy isn't going to show up and try to write 200 people tickets. That being said, a proper police team will set up surveillance cameras and record everyone street racing a few weeks beforehand. This way they have video evidence in court, as well as enough evidence to arrest you without actually having to catch you while you're racing. Now whether Charles County has the manpower and gumption to do this is another story entirely. But if the Staties got involved it could go down really quickly. My guess as to why it's going on is that either a) Charles County lacks the manpower/ingenuity to pull off a proper bust or b) a few cops are in on it, or a combination of both.

With all the crime we get down here now with all the new development I would be surprised if busting supposed street races is high on the priority list.

WHen it starts getting Cool, say in September or so before it get cold,
lets meet up one night grab some food, beer or two and go down there
to spectate. And if any of us get the urge, lets go beat down some cars.

Cool night with big turbos. We should put some hurting on some domestics

You hit it right on the money. They don't give a **** about that stuff unless somebody crashes a car, dies, gets hurt, etc. They have bigger things to worry about.

I swear all the crime from DC is migrating south now.

Anyone have a radiator for an s4 TII

My fc crapped today, and I need a radiator. Does anyone have one they would be willing to part with for some good old american greenbacks, or some beer?

Hey Bmac, there is a new La Tolteca down in La Plata next to Outback. We went there today and had lunch. They have a pretty nice cantina in the back. We should try to hit it up later this week.

Yeah, I saw that the other day. Had lunch at Casey Jones. Tracey wants to try that place. We could do tomorrow night maybe??? I got gigs Wed. and Thur. night.

Man, my buddy with the '07 Vette C6 put a hurtin on me when we raced at a light. Both started same time but with his 400 lb/torque he was up 2 car lengths by 40mph, then I MISSED 3rd went to 5th... it was all over. This was during that heat wave, so I need to try again when it's cooler. Time to order the street slicks.
