Hey SoMD cats! I'm down in sunny Fort Lauderdale for the holidays, hope you all are havin a good time. Justin, you leavin town??? I won't get back till after the New Year, so good luck in IL. Come visit sometime.
Hey Dave, you get your motor back yet? We gotta hook up when I get back. Tracey is puttin on the pressure to sell the 7 for the new baby. Looks like there is no single turbo in the near future, think I'll have to just blow it at the track and then sell it!

Yea I kind of thought that you might be having to consider selling the sports car to please Tracey. It happens. No motor yet. Shocker. Have a good time in Florida and hit me up when you get into town.

Well we all took a vote on it and decided you aren't allowed to sell it!

Yeah, I am leaving on Monday. I will be coming back this summer to get the girlfriend, and we are driving back out there just to get that experience. We have a house set up out there, I have a few job interviews in line already, and once I know the area, I will be trying my hardest to get in with UPS.

Good luck to all you Southern MD cats, and I will see you all in May or June. No worries, I will still be checking in on this part of the forum, and especially this thread.

Update: I am in Indiana now, should be in Illinois tomorrow. I hate west virginia, so ******* hilly and windy. What a pain in the ***! And I hear that weather was nice there today or yesterday. Well anyway, should be in St. Louis tomorrow, then I am off to find me two jobs, yep that's right, two jobs!

I am sure the thread will liven up once spring rolls around. It does not surprise me nobody posted for a while since it is winter.

But anyhow, weather here is up and down, nice people, courteous drivers too. Everybody uses blinkers!!!

what's a blinker?
Short shifters- I read some of them rattle. B&M and Gotham are like $175, is the Mazdaspeed type better? Worth the extra money?

Yeah I ordered a front mount and it should be in very soon.

http://vip.busytrade.com/productInfo...rts&pID=135975

And as soon as I have that and my battery relocation done i should be on the road again.

I havent sold the other yet because im not sure how my temps are going to react and if it gets too hot ill just put the smic back in.

And yes this weekend ill be in clemson picking up the remainder of my things so the weekend after I would be available for a meet

I'd be scared of any intercooler that cost only $250. I paid $1100 for mine. Good luck with it. The install is a real pain in the neck.

I ended up paying more for it but I got a Sample price deal. If i like it a friend of mine will be ordering them and selling them through his company, illstreet.com .

Also, i have been speaking with a rep from Autobahn88 for about 3 months now trying to make sure that i was getting a quality part. So We'll see but im pretty sure the kit is going to be extremly similar to the 900 dollar Greddy unit.

Dave what was the worst part about the install?

And did you still run your underpannel after going front mount?

I hope that works out for you. It's been my experience that any time I try to save some cahs on parts it ends up biting me in the ***. Which is why I now just shell top dollar in the first place. I guess I am just gun shy about it.

The install is a bitch. First off you have to remove and trim the bumper. Then the raditor has to be relocated and you have to use thier brackets. (This is where the extra cash comes into play; I hope the brackets they supply work. ) Then you have to relocate the power steering lines. You might have to cut and extend the raditaor fan electrical lines. Mine were rally tight and pulling hard to fit so I cut and re-soildered in an extra 12" of wire .You may or may not want to do that. It's going to be a stretch for them to fit if you don't but it might make it. You will have to cut or remove the bumper reinforcement bar. I had to trim some of the frame for the turbo side charge pipe to clear around the radiator...

I can keep going but you will find out for yourself. It's far from a drop in install. I think it took me a whole weekend to do it and I am pretty handy with the tools etc.
Just plan to get knee deep is my only advice.
