Isn't $1500 for a T11 with a blown motor a little much? I was thinking a couple of years ago I found a few for $800-$1000. I may be wrong but it seems a little high unless the body is perfect with nice paint.

Calvin- Sorry I don't know Bill Wood.

the guy is willing to come down on the price.Id offer $800 or maybe $1000 if its super clean.I bought my 87 TII for $250,with no compression on the rear rotor then sold it for $750,and it was no cherry. It needed lots of work.

If I were you, I'd jump on it. Silver TIIs are nice as hell IMO. Just paint the trim, throw a Jspec in there. If you can get it for 1G, then after about 2500 you'll have a damn nice TII with basically a brand new engine.

Sorry Calvin, don't know.

Ok, well you buy the silver turbo II, get an engine for it, and we'll trade cars.
Joe, I'm sure Rob would be quite interested in that install. I'm not the greatest at electronics so I'm interested too. When do you plan on installing it?
Brian, the only first gens here are red, as far as I know.

Who's gonna be there this Sunday? Cloverleaf mall autoX! Should be a good time and the weather looks good.

why did you need a microtech ? just wondering as low as you keep the boost under 10psi on the stock ecu it works great

Hey vosko! Didn't think i'd see ya in this thread.

To be perfectly honest, I don't want to take the FCD/S-AFC route. That's the first reason (what happens when I go and use my next reason . Next reason, i'm shopping for a T04E. Hopefully getting a spare set of S5 injectors to send out to get bored out to 1000cc so I can have a drop in replacement on the fuel rail.

When I sell the stock ECU, I *should* get around 100 bucks. Selling some of the other sensors (I get to ditch the AFM/MAF!!!!!!!!!) I should have a good price in the end that would be a good competition for $ wise of buying a SAFC.

This thing (by glancing over the manual) is insane with the amount of control i'll soon have over the engine. My only beef with the LT8 is the lack of built in support for a wideband O2 sensor...that'd make it perfect!

Zach and Rob, I tried stopping by the dealership to pick up some gaskets (UIM/TB/BAC/ACV) but they were closed. So, I'm going to go ahead and order them all from mazdatrix today. Along with the blockoff plates, and a DP/MP from thunderfab (that's going on after a week or so of toting around).

I'm no electrical god myself, by the diagram provided by Microtech is pretty damned easy to read. Some of the other guys in the GB are going to be posting their installs sometime this weekend, so I am waiting till next weekend so I can use their experience to help make the installation in mine go (hopefully) more smoothly.

You guys want to help? I know Zach's got that fancy garage that we could possibly use (preeease!), I can bring a shitload of tools and a case of beer, maybe some hamburger meat to grill up too. I'm aiming for next weekend, that should give me time to "borrow" a laptop from some friends at VCU. I also don't have a digi cam, so I know you guys would probably like to take pictures of the exploits as far as this goes. Anyone else who wants to show up would be more than welcome (help me with the wiring colors...i'm not too "good" at seeing reds/greens).

The unit itself is SMALL! I'm going to route it to the stock ECU location for now, unless I see a reason to do otherwise from anyone elses install. The stock map should be rich enough throughout the power band, but I'm really hesitant on wanting to really boost until I get some kind of wideband on it. I'm going to be looking into getting one of those FJO DIY wideband O2 units (around 400) so I may need someone to ride along and help tune when that time comes around.

I'll bring it out to the autoX tommorow so you guys can glance at the unit and check out the functions in the manual. (all different kinds of craziness)...

Sorry bout the book I'm writing here, just enjoying some nice Patron and thinking out loud...

On a side note, I just thought about it...I may not get the DP/MP...it wouldn't do me much good with an T04...it's have to be hacked up...

honestly i never used the microtech or ever saw a microtech car running. i am using an E6K in my FD and like it alot but the main thing about the stock ECU is as J9FD3S put it "it does everything well" i had no choice but to go with standalone EMS but once you get it running you will probably notice some small things like cold starts and idling is not perfect. overall my car runs great i am just trying to get it to run as good as stock with the standalone which is not very easy !

From the one guy who's got his running, he claims to actually have better idling characteristics then with his stock ecu. The LT8 has some control functions for cold starts, it's probably gonna be a while before we all learn how to control it and perfect it (dumping extra fuel as dictated by the H2O temps). But then he had ignition breakup over 5K, that's another issue.

If there's ever a BIG east coast meet, i'll go and you can sneak a peek once everything is said and done. (hint: there needs to be a BIG east coast meet...i'm tired of the 7stock in CA, revolution in MI...)....

I spotted a really clean looking black 'vert for sale on Old Hundred today, just wanted to give you guys the heads up. I didn't have time to stop and look at it, but I think its an S5 and it looked VERY nice.

In other news, I am going to VA tech next year and I got some scholarships, so I will have some extra money that I had planned on using for college. Now I'll be keeping my eyes open for a nice S5 TII... An fd would be nice, but I would probably have to sell my TR6, and with a TII I will still have money left over for mods.

All that work I did in high school has finally paid off and it feels great!
