I know this poor college student who rebuilds engines in his garage for a good price. I've heard he's damn good with porting too.

Bad news fellas, have to go back to the old phone dial wheels until I can afford some new tires. I need a real job.

Zach think of those 14s this way. Less rotational mass.

Zach: When I get a TII, you get to rebuild the engine. I'm sorry about the last one falling through. BTW dial wheels aren't all that bad. Gives your car that, there is nothing in it worth stealing look

I never got anything more than an answering machine, and they haven't returned my messages.

The OMP should be free to move and closed at idle. Otherwise you'll burn too much oil, say, a quart a week.

As far as the buzzer, either find another HUD and resolder it or try replacing the CPU like we did on mine.

BTW, have you recovered yet? I haven't been to Bailey's in almost a month! I need to catch up to that cool beer drinking waitress. I'm getting tired of these wine cooler drinking chicks.

Strife, if you decide you want me to build your engine, PM me and we'll figure it all out.

Wilson, no prob. You'll have more fun with the turbo anyway.

I took another look at it today. I hope the guy can cut me a good deal. How long has it been there for?

The buzzer has stopped, I will work on that when it gets as annoying as yours was Zach.

I have decided to go premix. After doing a lot of research, I decided the pros out-weigh the cons. If a girls gets pissed that I smell like oil or gas after filling my tank, I don't want her anyway , so I am not worried about it. Seriously though, I don't want to have to worry about adjusting the omp and having it inject too much (fouling plugs, creating carbon to break off and hurt something, etc.) or too little (burning up apex seals and housings). I don't think it will be that much of a pain in the ***, just need to find a convienient container.

And yes, I have recovered. I think I have had 1 beer in the past week....sad. Let me know when you can go Zach, I think I can afford a beer or two still.

welcome strife,my dad was the one that told me about the TII.He went and looked at it and said the guy was willing to come down on the price.I would offer him $1000 and see if hell take it.After all it needs a motor,so you going premix rob?I just got finished hooking up all the metering lines on my car and word of advice dont go by the haynes manual.Me and my friend rob had to tear the intakes off the 87 sititng in the yard to find out which lines go where. The manual wasnt no where near close, all i got left is the upper intake and cables and some wiring and fill er up with fluids. Then hope for the best.

I dunno about it though, I really wanted an S5 and it would be a lot of trouble to do the whole conversion thing. Any opinions?

I talked to the guy today. He wanted to sell it to see if he could find a motor to buy to put in it, but he wants to get rid of it. I don't have all the money to put down on it, and am trying to work something out with him, but he wants 1000 up front and then let me make payments on the rest :|

As I said before, the interior needs alot of work, with a cracked dash, and the passangers side door falling apart as well.

I want that car because it is prime to be a project, and I'm ready to take a project on.

I guess we'll have to see.

Update, I fully understand how I'm going to be wiring everything...not hard at all...

Also managed to borrow a laptop...it's old as hell but the battery holds a good charge!!!

Going to load it up with the software and hopefully get aquainted with the menus.

So is your laptop gonna say 'danger to manifold' just like in The Fast & The Furious?

Seriously though, will the laptop be connected while your driving, or is that just to load up info? Does it download info from the car too? Are you gonna get wireless internet so you can tune your car while talking on the forum?

My brother in law smashed into a curb in his brand new mustang because he was talking on his cell phone and making a last minute bid on eBay on his laptop while taking an exit ramp. I thought talking on the cell phone was distracting enough.

Laptop is going to be connected during the initial cranking. After it's warmed and running, I just lock the timing after setting it, then calibrate the TPS. Then I can diconnect the laptop and use the base map (lil rich all the way across...but that'll help once I take out the AFM and contemplate gutting the cats since I have some gasket making paper).

Oh yea, I'm not going to do any road tuning by myself anyhow...need a wideband O2 to go that route anyway!

When I get that (waiting on seeing if/when FJO 2.0 comes out...it uses widely available WB02 sensors) I'm going to have a field day of learning...

Your gonna hate me, but most likely Sat....

Just incase I don't get it running, I'm not totally screwed for another 30ish hours.

Probably I'm going to be doing it at my parents house (about 10 min from southside speedway).
