Sorry I didn't make it to the autoX, I had some family stuff pop up late saturday -> sunday....

I'm watching all the install problems get resolved in the ECU forum for some hints...quickest it's been done is around 3-4 hrs.

One quick Q Rob, where'd you order your blockoff plates from? I seem to only find the ACV...

I may hold off on removing the air pump till after the install...

edit:

ordered the blockoff plates from K2RD...

K2RD is where I got mine Joe, they sell quality stuff.
Wish I could have made it yesterday as well, I had a family emergency though, everything is cool now.

I am having a few problems with my car though.
First, it is using oil like a champ. I have put two quarts in the last two weeks and have not driven more than 600-700 miles. I know I still have a small leak under my oil filter, but not 2 quarts in 2 weeks kind of leak. I get a little blue smoke at startup, but it clears up within a few seconds and no smoke under boost that I can see. I was tinkering with the oil metering pump rod that connects to the throttle body. I figured out the oil metering pump is not returning to where it stops by itself. Should it be held open while the car idles?

Also, buzzer is going off at 5,500 rpm now...Any ideas what that could be?!

Just thought I would bounce some ideas off of everyone....

Welcome to the thread vosko

seriously though, if I were to go, I would probably follow him in my car. I just don't like traveling alone, it gets boring and I enjoy company, even if its another car.

true... i dont know though, my first gen already has 144k on it, and its never broken down on me minus the master cylinder going the other day, its just that i drive my car probably harder than i should, and i just dont want the one time i rely on it for the motor to go. it probably would be alright, but i would just rather road trip up there with someone else.

Block off plates are going to be here ~May 6.

I'm going to just get a roll of gasket paper for the UIM. I'm going to have an electrical engineer (my old boss) and some others look at the diagram to help explain how everything is going to need to be wired up prior to installation!

Sorry to break subject, but I'm looking to buy a 88' RX-7 Turbo II that was mentioned earlier in this thread but it needs alot of work on the interior and the engine. I really wanna get a project car to have a little fun in and it seems to be a good car to try and work with.

anyone know where I can get some work done on it for cheap around here before I sink alot of money into this car?

Silver?

I can't recommend any shop, I've heard bad things about everyplace. Do it all yourself!

The interior would be a breeze. The engine "could" be a drop in affair (reman from Malloy Mazda in NOVA ~1900). Then there's everything else in the car...

Yea, the silver one.

What's the possibility of finding a good j-spec engine?
