the drifting event was awesome, i think i have the 240 syndrome now! I have a 88 vert TII swap with a non boosting, exhaust leaking, manifold cracked, and gasket blown TII motor. In all the overwhelming excitement i forgot about the exhaust leak. When i got the halfshaft and all on it reminded me of the leak. I pulled the turbo and manifold off last night to discover the exhaust manifold gasket is blown and the turbo to manifold gasket was blown out the top. The turbo manifold has a bad crack in it from port to port about 1 inch long. Do yall think it actually warped the exhaust manifold? When i pulled the bolts out 3 out of 4 were finger tight snd the other needed some hammer loving to come loose, the cat was completely plugged when i pulled the motor so i know all that heat was staying in the manifold, i shoulda pulled the turbo and all off while the motor was off the car to check it. ill post some pics of the manifold.

the TII vert is running and boosting, and i cant even drive it out the garage due to the 1 inch thick skating ring mother nature turned my driveway into. I mashed the gas and the boost guage went to 10 pounds of boost, and sounded good. Im so happy and cant even drive it. I ordered a greddy type S B.O.V. thats gonna be here monday so hopefully the snow will be gone and i can go for a test drive.

hahah funny thing is....me and my gf just moved a dorm fridge right next to the couch and tv....
anyways just wanted to intro myself...just bought a 93 rx black from NC. working on the insurance part of the bit...jesus christ insurance is expensive. But I'd like to get together with some of you guys. I'm actually having a small problem with the rx that I need some recommendations on as to what it is...the car seems fine until i let it idle and cool off...then some smoke comes off the hood. It's a white smoke so I'm guessing it's an oil leak onto the exhaust but i dunno where from...wouldn't mind someone taking a look at it. I'm guessing i need a new gasket of some sort.
but anyways enough whining, feel free to hit me up anytime, 540-449-3442. yeah it's long distance but i'm living in richmond.

Are you sure the smoke is white?
White smoke = coolant (smells sweet)
Blue tinted smoke = oil
Also, what side of the engine bay is the smoke coming from? It could be so many things: leaky oil line by the turbos, leaky oil filter pedestal, etc.

might be coolant then...checked level sunday and seemed ok. it's definitely white tho. name a time/place I'll meet up with ya and show ya heh...but my coolant buzzer did go off briefly on sunday so coolant was my first guess..but then I checked it. damn I hate having a new car but on the same end...it's damn fun to have one
I would meet you somewhere, but I'm in Blacksburg for the semester.
If you are sure it is coolant, then it is probably a leaky coolant line going to/from the turbos. The small leaks are tricky to spot because the coolant burns up so fast on the hot manifold.
Do a search on "turbo coolant line" in the 3rd gen section and I'm sure you'll find some info. You'll probably just end up searching around the engine bay looking for evidence of a leak... fun times

you be careful of jayson, he'll fix your coolant leak but you'll find missing parts left and right, he'll sell them back to you later at a raised price
thats how he makes his cash for the strippers, gospel truth
