date of manufacture is VA code, Sec 46.2-100
"Antique motor vehicle" means every motor vehicle, as defined in this section, which was actually manufactured or designated by the manufacturer as a model manufactured in a calendar year not less than 25 years prior to January 1 of each calendar year and is owned solely as a collector's item.

I'll let you guys know when/if I get plates for my '93. I was a little hung up on the verbiage on the DMV site as well. If you count 1993 through 2017 inclusive, then the car would be 25 model years old prior to Jan 1 of 2018. If you look at the '92 build date, it's even older. But I'm really not sure how they count it since the wording is pretty vague.

Congrats Matt - looks great on her ! Obviously you paid extra and got as vanity/personalized. But what's significance of 600SQ ? 600x600=360,000 (bucks she‘s cost you over the years) ? 600 So Quick (600whp) ? 600 SQueeks (cause she‘s such an old lady !) - come on, what's it mean Matt ? Bill

Dunno if everyone else knows this but you can go on the DMV webpage and get wait times for all of the different locations. They are constantly updated and I've found them to be pretty reliable. Since I work close to three of them I usually check the site and go when it is under 5 min, I rarely end up waiting at all when I go.

Those who have running cars missed a great event yesterday, the course ended up being nearly all of the Shenandoah circuit with just a section of the back straight use for the slowing zone and grid. Although it was wet it was a great lesson in car control, we got a decent amount of long runs, and the "parade" laps around summit man for an extra $20 were fast and the highlight for me. The best part, no one crashed except for a Mustang!
I just received an e-mail announcing a summer series of these events which should be a blast. Here is the schedule with registration links:

We usually have a cruise in the spring and there are ad-hoc events such as the track day mentioned above, AutoX, and cars+coffee type things all summer long. Subscribe to this thread and also let others know what you're attending so they can join!

Back in the 7 life again
I am so glad I checked this thread. My car is getting fishied up out in AZ right now and was worried I wouldnt be able to get the Antique plates for it till next year (AZ doesnt have emissions on classic cars so exhaust is kinda..well, umm). Wish I had her today though.

Weird question but does anyone know of a place where I can order CYM? Starting the resto project on the FC soon and was going to paint it yellow. Also, I'm really sorry for not being more active, I'm PCSing down to Florida next month and have been going rabid trying to get everything sorted out.

My boost control isn't working right now so I'm stuck at WG spring pressure, I gotta check the controller sub harness with my meter, I think I have a wire that pulled out of it's connector.
