Looks like a good time. When do these meets happen? I may have to show up. That it's at The Block is just a bonus

That is way easier for me to get to than the CFA meet. I would be happy to meet up there any time I'm in town. Is it every Friday? If not, Can we just start showing up every Friday and hope it becomes a thing?

It was a one-off thing but by the looks of its popularity, I'm sure there will be another. The problem for me is that it's TOO close to my place and it'll be too quick of a drive. Car would barely warm up. But I hear ya, CFA is a haul. We can easily create our own meets there with the massive parking lot. And the food is great, especially Balo Kitchen.

I was actually thinking of creating another thread - for jaunts to food spots I've been meaning to try but slightly unmotivated to go solo. I like to eat and my taste and appetite can change quickly so it could be quite spontaneous. But it'll be a chance to drive the FD to and fro with a nice meal in between with hopefully good company. A couple of places I want to try are Gus's Fried Chicken in Greenbelt (Nashville hot chicken, with ample parking from what I can see on G maps) Greenbelt College Park Maryland Gus's Fried Chicken and Melt in Leesburg (burgers, also ample parking) https://meltgourmetcheeseburgers.com/. Of course, suggestions are welcome.

If anyone's down, I'll start a thread before I go. Thinking about calling it FooDee. Cheesy but it fit so well! But this won't be exclusive to FD's so doesn't exactly work.

Sounds like a great idea! I'm always down for trying new eats and driving the FD.

Yeah, this was a one-off meet but they have a regular one there on Fridays (just smaller). My car is going to be limited on distance for a bit till I can truly do a shakedown on it.

some of my thoughts for possible food meet ups
- Honey Pig - There are two locations and its a fun spot. The K-BBQ is actually pretty good and it lends itself to a group
- A&J (Little River) - Very good and pretty healthy dim sum on Sat/Sun. Go a little bit before lunch as its small. Downside is parking is tight.
- Kabul Kabob (Van Dorn Plaza) - Small little place but their Gyro's are amazing. Use homemade bread instead of bagged pitas.
- Dunya (Landmark) - Amazing Afghan place
- Nandos Peri Peri (Springfield Mall) - London based chicken place. Not as great as in the UK but still pretty good.

So I saw an FD yesterday while I was on my way home. It was an MB and it looked mostly stock, this was on Telegraph Road in Alexandria just south (heading south) of 495.

Was that anybody here?

Have been to Honey Pig, A&J, and Nandos (they're popping up everywhere, now in Reston and Ashburn for a while) but not the other two. Up for just about anything though!

Sadly, my car will be delayed even further. The body shop it was at in AZ hid paint damage to the roof/rear and then tried to fix it last second. I pull the car from there and will be getting the top redone at D&V when it gets here.

Ugh that sucks, sorry to hear Reminds me of the time I had to take my 3000gt to the shop for some insurance work. They repainted the front bumper, said it was done, I got a friend to drive me 2 hrs to pick it up only to find that it was all spidered and they tried to tell me "it was like that when it came in". It wasn't.

Yeah, I get that mistakes and accidents happen but just own up to it and let me know instead of trying to hide it. That was the main reason that I pulled it. If I cant trust them that they arent going to hide things, then who knows what will happen to the car. Id rather pay a good shop locally to fix it then have it go back and not know when I will get it or in what condition.

Hey fellas whats the deal with D&V? Do you trust them or anyone have experience with them? I want to have a couple places to get quotes from at some point in the future when I ever get around to getting my paint and body retouched.

D&V is my back up plan for the car if the shop in Phoenix cant get the 7 in order in time. They were highly recommended by my friend that details supercars and its where a lot of the old school show guys go to get their cars done. From the work I have seen they look amazing. The price reflects that though.

D&V are fantastic. They did my '99 wing and my sunroof shave. Top notch work, and they matched 10 year old silver paint.

Are any of you guys interested in cruising up to Gordon's on August 25th for his BBQ? It's about 4 hours from NoVA.

I have working A/C again after many years so a 4 hour drive isn't out of the question. I assume you mean August 25th, right?

Wow, I havent been to Gordon's in almost 10 years. Unfortunately I have a wedding the week before and am on call that weekend or I would definitely make the trek in my daily.

I missed Gordon's last year so I'm interested. It's a Saturday though so may be late after work.

Drove the FD to work today with the one nice day before it storms for the next 14 days. My tachometer and my odometer have been working too - yay! Anyone up for Chick-fil-A?

I drove it to work yesterday too. barely got above 50 mph sadly. And I'm slightly jealous of the odo working. Ive got 2 clusters, so I can either know how fast I'm going or how far I've gone. The car is still called Heisenberg for now....

What exactly is Gordon's?
