Fall is here, lets get a cruise in before the cold hits and we need to put our toys away. Any ideas on end point or we going to Old Bust Head again?

As per our usual, we will be starting the trip at a breakfast establishment (IHOP @ 7495 Iron Bar Ln, Gainesville, VA 20155) for everyone who is interested to get some grub. This gives us the opportunity to show up at more flexible times. If you want to eat, make sure you are there with enough time to get your bill taken care of before we leave the parking lot. Departure time will be 10am, even if you aren't there for food make sure you are there EARLY. We'll be standing around chatting anyway and if you are late you run the risk of us leaving without you. Then you will have no other choice but to try and catch us up after we've already woken up all the law enforcement with our loud exhausts.

Remember: These meets are more about the people then the cars. Having your car be down for service is part of owning an Rx-7. Feel free to show to the meeting spot and grab a ride along with someone else, or if you want to drive along with us in something else that is cool too.

Once you decide that you are in, vote for the dates you are interested in. Also, list your screen name and real name below so I can have a running tally of who is showing up.

I voted Sunday's but just realized Sumospeed Trackoberfest is the 14-15th at Dominion so I will be there all weekend for the most part.

 

I'll try to make it this time in the new (to me) Miata. It'll have to be on a Sunday for me to make it though, taking Saturday morning classes this semester so I'll only be available on Sundays.

 

If it's on the 8th, I should be good to attend. I'll be out of town the other dates.

 

REMEMBER - Rocky wants you to vote -AND- add your two handles to the list if you intend to go (assuming one of your voted days are chosen).
--- so far from those who have chimed in ----> Wes & Derek are likely in, but only on Sunday 10/8. Levi is a likely in on either Sunday, but didn't actually vote yet. Rocky is a go on all 3 choices, as am I. So far it looks like Sunday 10/8 would get us at least two lost souls and one Derek and you really only need one Derek - ever - lol.
---ROCKY- can you remove or discount Derek‘s 10/15 vote since he seems to indicate it was in error ?

Sorry - Ian didn't express days that are out for him in words, but voted Saturday 10/14 only as preference. White Charisma out of Glen Burnie didn't express days that are out for him, but voted for Saturday 10/14 & Sunday 10/15. My possible point is -I hope a day is chosen that fits us all & and hope Wes, Levi & Derek are part of that ! The End

 

If it does end up on the 14th we could just cruise to dominion raceway for some fun... lol I'm doing the 2 days of drift and road course as its only $175 for both days.

 

I should be able to make it this time, but I'm gonna go ahead and say my car won't. Ill be in the DD or riding with Ian.

I voted for Saturday but should be good for any day. It looks like I'll be taking my car into IRP for the power tune on October 6th so I'm stoked!

 

Mt Weather and Dirt Farm were great last year but someone needs to bring an SUV to shuttle us up. Anyone? If not, tried and true Shenandoah is still nice. And I still have three weeks to get a small group together for an exploratory excursion...haha.

I'm interested. I sold my FD since last cruise but I've got an imported 1990 Infini IV FC now.

Well spoke too soon, just realized the 8th is the day of a very large car event I'm going to. Seems this October is busier than usual.

 

Is the event local? We've stopped by them on cruises before.

Quick questions - how long (approx. hours) is the road trip, and where is the end point? I'm thinking of joining this, but the start point at the IHOP is about a 2hr/15min drive from my place - presuming the ride home is about the same?

 

Pete - thought you were going to Gordon's (again !) for his Pig Roast/BBQ - but were a no show ! Was my first time and was a great day indeed. What a host ! What a place ! What a great group of people & cars ! What a nice stable of machines he owns ! Sorry you missed it.

As far as Fall Cruise goes - been multiple times since getting my seven 4 years ago - nice people, spirited diving, always interesting. I'm the only old fart there usually and they are generally kind to me, lol. Fearless leader Rocky hasn't called day and tIme yet, but looks like will be Sun 10/8 and usually leave from Gainesville IHOP lot at 10am. Usually finishing in Warrenton, or similar local, at microbrewery at 4 to 5 latest. Come on out and show that super clean black beauty, Bill

 

Yup, I was supposed to go to Gordon's but the FC had other plans... When it was time to leave that morning, the new AEM Infinity ECU had one of its very intermittent brain farts rendering my car into a big paperweight. It's all debugged, tuned & working now - turns out the AEM Infinity is VERY picky about how one wires in the EFI main relay!

Would be great if they settle on 10/8, as I'm off that Monday - I'll be the other old fart then!
